Lightning just sent a email peak at its 150 Mile Range, $13,000 starting concept/prototype.
Engineering Porn to me :teeth. Yet, I have a hard time believing that they are using those manufacturing methods on a $13 K electric motorcycle.

They're decent but not great. I don't think the SR/F will have one-finger brakes, given its 8.75 score on Brakes from the motorcycles.com review. :thumbdown

You might not need much brake with regenerative braking.

That's true I hardly use the brakes on my Empulse. I think you can increase the regen with their app also. I felt the the regen wasn't enough regen for me when I rode the Zero bikes though but I never got to mess around with the app. The only place I really needed the Brembo brakes on the Empulse is the track I could easily outbrake the Zeroes.

The regen braking on the Zeros isn't anything to write home about. You still need to use your brakes for sure. Also regen is only for the rear wheel, so getting good braking from regen is not gonna happen.

It aint so much range im worried about. I just don't like the bike cutting out on power because of either the battery percentage or overheating.

My 2015 has a J Juan Brakes. 1 Finger braking. I never complained about power and I'm a aggressive street rider. I use to track day 600s.
Some people complained about 1 vs 2 front rotors. I never fount it to be a issue. The new SR/F has 2 rotors to make them happy, but now they complain about the extra weight. :laughing
I had a peek of the SR/F today and the industrial design of the bakes is really nice. Mine are very generic parts.

I have seen a number of the new Zero bikes riding around. They look great, at first glance I keep thinking it's something Japanese. From the front it reminds me of a Monster. But it still has a smallish appearance - I thought one of them was a Grom til I saw the side view.

The SR/F is bigger in many ways compared to my SR.
My SR has 250/300 cc size tires - The SR/F has 600 cc size tires
More brake rotors. :laughing
More storage in the "tank" area

Pretty sure this is "e-bike" as in "electric bicycle".
I think a lot of places are afraid of stuff like the Stealth Bomber, but this is talking about the CA definition of class 1 ebikes, which is literally:
But yes, it's generally a lot of hand-wringing without understanding the underlying tech.

Within the MTB community itself there's a lot of push back on the e-Bikes, so can see how Bay Area communities would be against them. I see no problems with Class 1 e-Bikes being allowed on MTB trails, but since I don't live up near Mt. Tam my input doesn't really matter much. :nchantr
