^^^^^^^ um no you may not. :laughing

got inspired by my helmet shelf and went ahead and made the main above bed shelf!
86 inches wide, 25 inches deep. it will eventually have side rails of some kind to help keep stuff up there, so these are just preliminary pics. glad to have my gear off the floor now tho!

Personally, I'd carpet that skull-eating edge and drop a few carriage bolts thru the roof to under the shelf, but that's just me & my survival instinct.... :teeth

yea supports from the edge to the roof are for sure coming in the very near future. best to overbuild rather than under build. good idea on the carpet - will do :thumbup

It's a lil late for this but look at fastenal for cheap hardware and some tools. Ask them if they'll give you a contractors discount. Most do. Way way cheaper than mcmaster Carr.

Progress made in May:

I've been doing a lot of other stuff this month, but managed to fit some BUS upgrades in...

Well i went ahead and supported the main "above bed" shelf. 2 supports was plenty, as the forward most corner is already supported at the bottom.

remember that subwoofer speaker guard i was talking about getting? well i gots one. its metal, really nice quality.

having a clock in the bus is great and all, but problem is that you are outside most of the time, and so you really need a clock that is visable from the outside of the bus. the dark tint on the windows makes it SUPER difficult to read the interior clock - so I rigged this jammy up

I brainstormed a lot of ideas as to how to mount it; some complex, some simple. went with the more simple option (gorilla tape!)

compiled me a cool little tool box. it wont get me very far, but its way better than next to nothing. just the basics so i dont have to be that annoying guy who needs to barrow a Philips screwdriver :laughing

talk about LONG overdue.... the metal strip between the checkerboard floor, and the carpet - has FINALLY been installed! I couldnt find one in black in a style that I wanted and length that was required, so I went with this gold/bronze color; kinda matches the carpet i guess?

OK so seriously next up is the A/C install (already purchased the unit), and then the dashboard will be finished. Summer vacation is just a couple weeks away, and i'm well funded finally - so lots of cool projects/upgrades to come! :loco

That thing looked pretty good with all the lights flashing running around the track at thunderhill, you know they sell white duct tape for the clock, it would be a little more color coordinated :teeth :ride

Phillips screwdriver? Nooo. If you don't have one, get a #2 JIS screwdriver. That will work on Phillips screws a lot better than a Phillips screwdriver will work on JIS screws, which if you have a Japanese bike is likely what you have. At first glance they may look the same. But they're not.

:rofl u guys r too funny - yea just throwing this thing together! haha
someone at the track the other day was like "oh i know a guy who has a similar setup; his has a bit less... character..." :rofl

whatcha mean subwoofer alignment?!
do u mean the amp thats mounted to the back of the sub that isnt quite in line with the top? cuz yea if so i didnt like it either. go thank the previous owner who mounted it. i didnt wanna put more holes in the box to mount it nice and flush. i figured it was close enough considering it was gonna tuck in a corner.

yea the screws leave a lot to be desired. was what i had at the time. i will eventually replace. something about the glare off the metal makes them in the pic not look nearly as flush as they actually are

The subwoofer is not mounted straight in the box. It's upside down, and needs to be rotated a few degrees. The small triangular details on the edge should be at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00. :x

Totally a non-issue but there's no freakin way I could have left it like that. :laughing
