True, but everything is on hold right now. Maybe next year. I was also at looking into getting the 2013 Ohlins FGR300 Superbike Forks, rear Brembo MotoGP Master Cylinder, and Braketech carbon rotors:ride

You need a Magical Racing CF front fender w/ fork guards, and Magical Racing CF rear fender w/ incorporated chain guard, paired with their CF swingarm armor.

You know, if you really want to go for the full SBK-look. :teeth

Not as fast as I look.
I wouldn't ride that on the track. You are taking a huge risk with HRC parts on a Yamaha. :shame

Unless you are turning this into a race bike, I don't think you should do the carbon rotors. They take a lot of heat to work properly.

Nice bike, other than the Honda parts. :twofinger

I was supposed to get the FGR200 Superbike forks but had an issue with Attack Racing on making me upper and lower clamps by July of this year. Attack said since it was racing season, they wouldn't be able to start on my set until Oct. It was already June when I asked Attack and I needed my R1 to be together for Yamaha at MotoGP Laguna Seca by the end of July. Now, I plan on selling my Ohlins forks and triple clamps and plan on getting the new 2013 Ohlins FGR300 Superbike Forks and Attack Triples as well. I'm gonna need custom spacers, fender brackets, and a front axle made for those superbike forks. Also, a MotoGP intergrated rear brake master cylinder, new paint scheme, and race body work as well. I just don't have an idea yet when I plan on doing this particular upgrade:wtf:ride

So I have to ask, with all that money invested, why didn't you run the Ohlins superbike forks? No sarcasm intended, but a bike of that caliber (IMHO) needs those forks. Beautiful machine by the way, and congrats on the bike shows!

You might as well go the way of Lacomoto's M1-replica kit for your bike. We'll accept nothing less at this point! :x

Yes sir:teeth I'm actually talking to Felipe at Lacomoto in regards to those M1 replica fairings:ride

I'm clairvoyant. :laughing

In all seriousness, now I'm jealous. If they made a kit for either my 02 or 07 R1, I'd be all up on that. None of us are ever going to own a full-blown M1, but for a chance to have one that looks like it superficially? That's the next best thing. :thumbup

I was glad to hear they're now making one for the 09 and up R1 though. I'm probably going to own one five years down the line at my current rate, and when I do, I'll pick up their M1 kit. Imagine that; an R1 that looks AND sounds like the M1. :drool

Goddamit, nothing for late-model CBR1000RR's worth buying off that site. :mad Don't make me go out and buy an R1 just to dress up. :x

BrakeTech's CMC rotors are proven to work at street speeds. I personally know someone who had a set on his 2005 G1K for years, and it's his street bike.

I think it's worth noting that CMC rotors aren't carbon rotors; they're Ceramic Matrix Composite. Unless Braketech started making carbon rotors that I didn't know about, not sure what OP meant either when he wrote "Braketech carbon rotors" other than he might have meant the CMC rotors.

Yes, you're right they're actually called CMC rotors:teeth

I actually took 2nd place at the Long Beach Convention Center last weekend. There was controversy with that cuz most builders were shocked that I didn't take 1st. The bike that took 1st was a stretched out RC51. I'd understand if it was better than mine but in honesty it wasn't great at all. All I know for sure is that it didn't have a long list of upgrades as I did...

Lot of hard work, dedication, and MONEY invested in that bike. Congrats man. Looks great! IMO the best looking generation R1.
