Five years ago I got smart. Found a card shop selling excess stock and bought a decades worth of birthday/anniversary/Valentine's and Christmas cards for my wife. Stashed 'em in my tool crib. Became impossible to forget an event. Wife thinks I'm wonderful.
Especially when a notable day slips in and I have a card but she has forgotten the date. Awkwardness in marriage when the husband remembers but the wife doesn't. Breaks the stereotype, no? But fun.
So, this morning, at 04:00, I go down for coffee and her card for me is on the table. Good times ! I dropped my pre-prepared card next to hers and prepared for my Sunday ride anticipating my return and a marital celebration.
Forty-seven years of Valentine's cards and it's still exciting to have someone to do this with.
You guys celebrating?
