^^^^^ all of that.

Had a blast, even tho I hadda push my bike the last 3 blocks of the parade route!

just installed a fan switch, who knew that running the fan as well as the rest of the electrical whilst riding extended periods mostly at idle would drain the battery flat?

thanks again to Val and Erin for the afterparty venue!

From what I hear we got very limited coverage this year. It sure was cool be be a part of this event this year. The crowds were larger than normal and everyone seemed so incredibly excited. Love it!

Hmm, video-guy made some interesting choices...

You always manage to steal the spotlight! ;)

Thank you, everyone! This event doesn't happen without you and we have so many people to thank. What a day, the crowd was incredible - I've never seen so many people and I hope you've been filled with joy and love. :D

Here's to next year! :party

(I'm so tired, I can barely put together a sentence and I've lost my voice. So you'll all have to bear with me until I can post up a more proper "thank you".)

I AM filled with joy and love. When I was a youngster in SF the jocks in my high school gave me the nickname of "dyke", it was a the worst thing they could think of calling me because the idea of a girl who would not conform to their feminine standards was such an affront.

It was not uncommon to hear about local gay-bashings where men with baseball bats trolled our streets in pick up trucks looking for gay skulls to cave in.

My confused, late mother in horror banned my sister and me from Castro and Polk when she found out we went there to find fun, open-minded, and creative people who lightened the oppression of our stern, backwards, military household.

The changes I've witnessed in my time have been so hard won, but have accrued so incrementally that only some of us can appreciate how miraculous an event like this one was, where we all felt safe and proud of each other.

Erin and Val and the all the marshals and volunteers who helped them make this happen at no small expense of time and effort- you make the moves that create options and open pathways for all of us.

I love you guys for doing this every year, making it bigger and more inclusive each time. And yes, I'm proud to steal the spotlight for it too.

To many happy returns of the day! :twofinger :party

I still remember fond & tender memories of 2 guest speakers to a class at SJSU back in the late 80s, one was a rape victim and the other is gay. It takes a lot of courage to do that back then. Lots of respects for both. BTW, a friend in our nerd group highly recommend this class since what's better to learn something we all don't know than taking a college course : "Human Sexuality", right ? << :thumbup

When one survives & rises from hostilities, ostracism, racism, oppression, persecution, one becomes stronger, more resilient; one becomes more compassionate and one is better able to appreciate the meaning of life, freedom and the pursuit of happyness.

I think I can speak for many when I say/type this last paragraph above.

Am very happy, proud and blessed to live and to have been part of this glorious historical time.

Congratulations to the LGBT community ! About time and finally for all 50 states to obey the law of the land !!

Oopsie : Thanks to ALL for a great & unforgettable day : Sun June 28 2015 !!

I remember 4 years ago when I first started inviting 100 strangers into my house and thinking, "If I can simply show them that are lives are just like theirs", that I would be able to help transition the attitude of the masses. There is simply no other event in the world where each participant is showered with the love of almost 1.5 million people for being themselves. The power of the parade is something I hope every rider takes with them for the rest of their lives and wants to share with every person they can.

Pass it forward.
