Alright, it's finally time!!! :party

This year is particularly important with the federal ruling due before June, so please bear in mind this will be an historical year with crowds of over 1.5 million people expected. It's going to be one hell of a party! :thumbup

Once again, we've got 40 spots allotted to our group this year and everyone (riding or not) is welcome to join the BBQ to celebrate!

***BARF is the largest motorcycle contingent in the parade!***

The whole point of the Pride parade is to celebrate the joy of life. Any person on the spectrum of humanity can participate.

***The details***

Registration runs $15 and it is a LONG day, but to be part of the main event of hundreds of bikes roaring down Market street, with over a million people watching, is something I feel everyone should do at least once in their lives. Please know that riding on Market at a very slow pace can be challenging and you should be used to riding over grates, MUNI lines, and in a pattern.

This is a highly regulated event and there is no asshatery allowed.

There are a TON of photos on BARF/Facebook if you want to see the shenanigans.

PLEASE READ THE FAQ: http://www.dykesonbikes.org/index.ph...d=85&Itemid=76

***Registration***

Please download and pay in advance (saves you $5): http://www.dykesonbikes.org/

You CAN register the day of the event but it's a good idea to have one less thing to do that morning. Registration is per bike and a passenger is free. ;)

***Gear***

Lots of questions about this... Wear whatever you are comfortable with to the parade (helmet, boots, jacket, etc) and there will be SECURE gear storage available to you by the gear truck that follows the parade route. You will get a cardboard box for your gear and a claim ticket for the end of the parade route. The truck follows the procession of bikes and parks (on 7th street I believe) immediately following. Drop a few dollars in for a donation and you are good to go!

You can leave extra gear or a change of clothes at my place, we'll have more details on that later.

So wear whatever you'd like underneath and strip down at line up!

The parade is usually HOT HOT HOT and you will be going 5mph the entire route. I strongly recommend wearing less. ;)

***BBQ***

Open BBQ (made by CarriesAnAxe!) at my my house afterwards for those that do/don't ride. I have over 100 people invited, a BBQ on loan from a wonderful BARFer (Pelon), and we will start taking paypal donations (around $20/$25) to pay for all the food and beer. This year, we'll have all craft beer by none other than our master brewer, Aaron (LunchBox).

Oh, and don't forget your cupcake (pillion)! Please let me know if you are open to taking a passenger and I'll connect you with someone who would love to come along. (There are literally fans that will jump over barricades to ride on your bike!)

These are strong commitments with any openings going to the first in the waiting list! I'll be updating this as confirmations come in and when openings are available. I will send registration info when we get closer to the date.

I don't want this to be the world's longest post, so I'll add more details in a little bit. Please PM with questions and I'm so happy to have you all along for the ride! :D

Of course, last year's Two Girls One Cup winner:
