Solid stuff, Mark!

Here are my photos from the Farallon Islands:

There are about 100 photos throughout the two threads.

Here's a smattering of more random photography that I do. I tend to shoot a lot of macro and research photography, given I'm a PhD student at UCD.

I study animal behavior up here at UCD and work with black widows (as well as field crickets)

I was just out at U Pitt for a month doing research and played with hissing cockroaches a bit. Note all the mites on the face

Did a shoot for one of the huge bio classes. They're going to get 20-30 30" prints of different organisms from the class and put them in the hallways. Here's a few of them

I know both of these places well! Any chance your bike is white? I think I came within inches of backing into it when I left the meat lab a couple months ago....

woah, kinda macro setup did you use for that widow shot?

A 5Dii, Canon 100 macro and a 580EXii off camera in a lightbox. It's a pretty simple setup. The harder part is getting the widows to build their webs in a way that makes it easy to get good photos of them... can be tough some times.

Here's one more

Ha, yea, white 07 Speed Triple. Thanks for not hitting it! If you in Davis and up for riding, let me know.

No problem! Actually, my friend saved it when he hollered as I started backing up. I'm on a bit of a street hiatus at the moment, but if you've got a dirty bike, then heck yeah. :)

Hey dub, most folks use aperture priority or shutter priority, depending on the desired result. I only use manual when lighting is fairly static, like studio work, or an indoor event. Otherwise, I feel it's a waste of time and a source of frustration for new/inexperienced shooters.
