Rush Limbaugh...dead

This thread makes me sick. I didn't realize motorcycle riders could be so petty and uninformed about a guy that just died of cancer.

Rush Limbaugh: Donated $100,000 to St. Jude Children's hospital to remain anonymous until he died.

Rush annual Leukemia Cure-A-Thon raised & donated over $50 million

2019- $5 million donate to foundation that paid off mortgages of widows of law enforcement.

I'm sure all you haters didn't know that.

Let's start a running total of donations from all the Rush haters. And I know most of you live in the Bay Area so 2+2 does not equal 5.

Bo Snerdley, a black man, was Rush's producer and call screener for 2 decades. "It burns me to my soul when people sully his reputation with falsehoods, calling him a racist. This man was just an incredible phenomenon -- and we love you, Rush."

Budman: I'm done with BARF. Please delete my account.:thumbdown

the dude spewed racist vile garbage among other horrible things and lies for decades. his tax deductible donations don't matter. good riddance

Jim Rutenberg in the podcast that I posted said the following on Rush:

"Rush Limbaugh is, he is a born radio broadcaster."

"Love him or loathe him, whatever you think of the content, he is one of the most gifted broadcasters in American history. "

"And if it was a Black politician, he would do racist impersonations. If it was a Chinese critic, he would do anti-Asian impersonations. He would just go in the racist xenophobic places. And he just reveled in the blowback that he got for it. "

You can have commentary based on race and even make some bad calls without being a person who believes that different colors of people belong to different subspecies that have fundamental incompatibilities. :dunno

You can also be a racist without being a person who believes that different colors of people belong to different subspecies that have fundamental incompatibilities.

You talk about genuine expression like it's a bad thing.

It certainly can be. There is a time and place, to ignore such things would be vulgar and lacking decorum.

You can also be a racist without being a person who believes that different colors of people belong to different subspecies that have fundamental incompatibilities.

Not really. If you wish to take the credit of the struggle rooted in a history of slavery inflicted on this nation, you must also accept its definitions.

By your own metric, anyone who donates to charity can spout hateful things and be forgiven.

As I send money to the food bank every month, if I were to wish that Rush can Rest in Piss should be perfectly acceptable to you.

It amazes me that a forum of so many “woke” people that are quick to easily state that the number of genders is inifite and fill the Sink with so much virtue signalling high horsery, are also so quick to revel in the death of another human being.
How about this for a virtuous “woke” thought: People are flawed, many do both good and bad and many are skewed one way or the other. The freedom to express opinions is supposed to be universal, not free to speak as long as they agree with your ideology. Limbaugh had a public, widespread forum but his views weren’t unique. He just had a louder voice.
I know little of the man and never listened to him more that to hear his voice long enough to recognize and switch off. But I also swore off talk radio long ago when I realized one side would say the sky is blue and the other say it’s black, whilst both were transmitting from a cave.

Love or hate anyone, being boisterous about the death of another speaks volumes about those doing so.

I don’t wish death on anyone.

Freedom to express opinions doesn't mean freedom from consequences like people thinking that someones opinions are shit and they are pieces of shit. This whole idea of freedom without consequences is nine year olds idea of what freedom is.

Also there is a difference between wishing death on someone and not keeping quiet about what a piece of shit someone was as others try to portray them as some kind of hero.

Yep. And there’s a difference between not mourning someone and dancing on their grave.

So what's gonna happen? Are we gonna be shunned by our family and friends? Will we face any negative feedback, other than randoms on the internet telling us we lack class for calling out a shit bag for being a shit bag?

Dying doesn't redeem someone. He lived a long life. His death was not tragic, and likely self caused due to his smoking (and denial that smoking is bad).

Your words do not hold weight to sway out instincts or opinions. We get it, you think you're better than us.

Does anyone believe that Rush Limbaugh actually believed what he said? Serious question. How many true believers are there actually at the highest levels of political (or religious) power and influence?

Yes, I do think he believed what he said.

Your hubris filled bloviation about "high horsery" as you spew it from your high horse is duly noted.

Calling out someone for what they were is not exactly dancing on their grave.

But let's say it was. Where do you draw that line?
Drug cartel boss responsible for hundreds of death directly. When he gets his brains blown out, would that be an acceptable circumstance?

What about some historical figures like Mao, or Stalin?
