Rossi Contract

Hollywood will have a factory spec bike and his own two year contract already signed to be in the factory team in 2021. And he's the only one on the grid anyone believes has any shot of beating Marc. So once you've got him locked up, what do you care who's in the second seat? Muniz comes in next year, with more continued development from the factory, and Yamaha has a good first few races. Rossi is in the top 5 by Mugello....voila, another two year contract inked. Maybe he'll quit at 43. Could be 45 though. Fuck, 50 even.....

So Rossi will become the Boston Red Sox of GP

the usa is not their major target market.

go to sepang, thailand, etc, and its rossi all day.

Even in the states it's still heavily Rossi. I went to the Austin GP the last two years and the ratio of people wearing VR46 gear to MM93 is probably 30:1.

The big riders all have merch booths at the GP. The multiple Rossi booths all have lines, the main one had an hour wait....all the other rider booths had zero lines.

Ditto.. Rossi's stuff dominated. I bought a hat and jacket myself. :teeth

Whatever that means
I think I was the only one wearing a suzuki hat on race day at Austin

Rossi still sells merch and brings attention and he isn't Lorenzo slow. Why would he retire?

Not as fast as I look.

Because he is getting beat by a rookie on a satellite Yamaha? :dunno

I don't give a shit whether he races or not, actually. But time has marched on despite what the yellow horde might want to believe.

Petronas actually are a much better team than tech3. Quartararo has been the biggest talent drop in GP since marquez. Vinales also got beat by fabio, should he retire? The yellow hoard still buys merch and rossi is still giving a lot of folks on the grid a run for their money.

I personally would rather see him retire but he doesn't have a good reason to. He's like Bret Farve. Probably bret should have retired a few years before he did but why would he? he was still getting paid millions to play sports.

Zarco was a better GP rookie. he scored more points in 18 rounds than Fabio.

ok ok, its only a 2 point difference.

Fabio has had more retirements - 4 vs 1 - suggesting he's one of those "you can teach a fast rider to stop crashing" kind of riders. that also means his avg finishing position is higher than Zarco's. his QP results support this as well. Zarco podium'd sooner, but fewer times. Zarco did great the last 3 rounds of the year, Fabio seems to be choking.

really, Zarco and Fabio are just about even for their rookie years. until Fabio wins a race, im not picking either.

we prob shouldn't forget, Zarco didn't improve for his 2nd year even though he also received a "better" more-factory M1. Fabio could do the same.
