It's just a silly game show, but he really worked his way into our hearts. RIP, Alex!

For years, I always said I preferred Art Fleming but Alex was great after all at the job.

Between him and Sean Connery, Celebrity Jeopardy is now ON upstairs!

Thanks for everything, Alex. You were great. Lie light.

I am sad to see him pass on. I loved his game show as a kid, especially the episodes with kids competing so he’s encouraging kids to play and value knowledge.

RIP Alex. Quite an inspiration for a lot of us.

BTW, 20/20 (the show, not the crappy year) had a great special on him last night. Was neat to see how he got started and his different looks over the years.

Everything from heartthrob music host in 1963 on Canada's Music Hop...

The guy straight up worked through life with grace no matter what and for me... he will be greatly missed.

My crossword puzzle playing wife CRUSHES me at Jeopardy.

Thanks Alex for making her happy! :thumbup:laughing

:laughing

My GF and I would play almost every night for the last dozen years or so, every now and then I would win but mostly she'd beat me. I'd just give up, if the Shakespeare category was on the board:laughing

So thanks Alex for being part of the family.

My wife won't play me... :laughing

I do OK until they get to catagories like theatre, literature or famous painters.. you know those culturally significant categories. Some of the top players are amazing and blow me away with their knowledge base.

The only thing makes me feel better is when they go dark on basic subject like sports. :p

There was one show, where they kept on picking the sports category and every single question timed out, without even a guess, Alex looked so disappointed, it was hilarious.

When I was little and all my sisters would go to school I'd stay home with my mom and "help" her with her crossword puzzles, and also with her favorite TV shows Jeopardy and Concentration. She had her first daughter 3 months after she turned 16, and had me, her 5th, 2 weeks before her 26th birthday so not much schooling, but she did the NYT Sunday puzzle in ink every week, and would absolutely smoke anyone on either of those shows. Her wealth and breadth of "useless knowledge" as she called it, always impressed me. She claimed it came from crossword puzzles. I've been a lifelong puzzler myself and also love Jeopardy. Half the time my husband will look at me with this crazy look and say "How in the hell do you know that?" I've got him fooled, he thinks I'm really smart but it's usually just something I picked up from my 3 puzzles per day :laughing

I spent many long nights at my mother's bedside when she was terminally ill. We watched Jeopardy all the time together. It was literally the highlight of her long days, and she was sharp til the end. I would usually blurt out the answers if I knew them before her (rare!) but in the end I let her have them. I know it sounds stupid, but losing Alex Trebek is like losing a little bit more if my mom, and it makes me super sad... :(
