Looks to me like the cops tried to block a black motorcycle w/ black helmet, then he turned onto the highway and several vehicles were doing 75/90+, some of them motorcycles, some of them cars ("opening doors"?), at least one SUV?

I caught part of it on the news this morning, started at a side show I guess, chp pursued but gave up the chase several times due to the extremely reckless speed the moto was going on 880. I guess a helicopter followed him and he collided with a vehicle at Redwood road and Castro Valley blvd. The driver was not hurt but the moto rider died-sorry that's all I heard but did also see what was left of the motorcycle.

^^^ This is apparently the case; the whole thing started down by the docks during a "sideshow"....

I hope this doesn't somehow lead to increased CHP presence on Redwood.

I don't know why they patrol it at all but I have seen them up there from time to time.

Between the squid drifters and riders you find on Redwood , I'm surprised the LEO's haven't put up a substation up there. The CHP station is just a block away from the crash site.
