go on please.
I usually like what you have to say.

They don't and apparently I was their great big fat learning experience.
When I rode with Curve Unit, it's been 4 years now hopefully things have changed, there was one ride one year where someone did not go down. That is FACT, I am not a hater but you would not call me a fan either.

As for organizing a monthly ride, Connie runs regular rides, crashing is not an option and they don't seem to happen on her rides.

If you are going to host a large group ride you had better be prepared to control that ride.

were you able to come to some type of conclusion to this event?
Holding on to some old shit can just make you very tired.....................

.may I add by people who a. never have ridden with us or one who hasn't ridden in some time....

You mean me don't you :toothless I think I am the only person that fits this demographic in this thread :party

FYI - I was around when CU started, and I wanted nothing to do with it from the very beginning. Why? First off the "Curve Unit" monniker, with the silhouetted female as the art/logo, plus the "We'll bring you to your knees" tag line/slogan

They didn't, and still don't fit my personal values as they relate to motorcycle riding and me.

I was (at the time) a rider, who is also female. I didn't need to be portraying myself as female first.

But that's just me. I can't stand it when a persons gender/sexual preference is their first port of call over and above anything else

Well, that and I really can't stand groups of women, they get on my nerves

Looking forward to your essay :)

I let it go years ago, but when it comes up I am truthful. When someone asks my opinion I give it based on what I know. If someone wants to know what happened I don't gloss over it, it was very bad behavior.
I have forgiven, forgetting is not an option.

When I hear threads about crashes and hear how well things were handled, which it appears they were, I still cringe when I do not see any accountability. "Boys will be boys" isn't a valid excuse. Crashing the ride AFTER the pre-ride speach? Sorry you are not a part of this ride. Inviting new riders out and mixing them up with a bunch of "testosterone" fueled boys on sport bikes isn't doing anyone any favors.

Groveland, where's that?
IMO, which doesnt mean much, but IMO, it is each persons responsibility to ride within their limits.

Group rides sometime fall prey to group mentality. Meaning, someone goes fast, everyone wants to go fast.

Ride organizers, by definition, are somewhat responsible for what happens on their rides.

Something all ride organizers should keep in mind is this: If it's predictable, it's preventable.
