I think I should post up 2019's Schedule

So you guys have a lot of time to plan..

This is the second year i havnt had anyone from BARF and maybe this is one of the reason that i post up the schedule too late..

what do you guys think!?!

I think it's price more than anything. I think it looks awesome but I have never spent 5k on a 3 week vacation in my life.

I know it seems expensive but most professional tour companies will charge $5k+ for a 7-9 day trip in the Himalayas. The value Moin offers far surpasses any generic company, and the price is more than fair. That said, if your budget just won't allow it, OK but as far as value goes, it's a screamin deal.

I'm interested, but I don't see flights at $800 from SFO to ISB - who's the best air carrier to fly to Islamabad?

Emirates is nice. Depending on dates you might not find a sub 1k flight. When I went in 2014 I paid $1478 a flight (Emirates). In 2015 I paid $1619 (Turkish).

I am envious of everyone who has been and will be going on one of these tours. I would never be able to convince my wife that I needed to do this and it would put too much strain on our marriage if I did it without her okay.

So I'll settle for road trips here in the States. Currently planning a ride to the headwaters of the Rio Grande and then on to Michigan.

First time I went Emirates the second time Turkish Airlines. Both about $1200. The best part about Turkish Airlines? The hub is Istanbul and I laid over a week on the way there. That city is awesome I highly recommend!

These tours are something really special. Not only are they an excellent value but your guide has a genuine interest in not only your safety but you seeing the real culture/country. I recall him saying "you don't wan't to eat that here" at a truck stop. That means he wants you to try everything there is on offer but also, having lived in the states for half a dozen years, knows what might cause issues. He knows the mountains, the good spots, how to haggle, how to talk his way through security checkpoints, is well connected and knows how to ride.

I went twice. It's a great time. World class. I've seen the Northern Lights dance over the ships bow and the Southern Cross rise in the sky and this is way up there on my list. Maybe at the top. I'd go again this year but I just embarked on an adventure with my woman: we bought a big house in the redwoods. The same woman who met me in Istanbul for a week on my way to Pakistan last time. So I'm a little busy this year.

Speaking of which: yeah Moin some better visibility would be awesome. I'm hunkered down a bit right now and need better planning. I'd like to know if these things are going to happen maybe around December/January. Then maybe I can get back a third time in 2019!

Pakistan was Great!

I just got back from a 14 day RideTheKKH motorcycle tour (www.ridethekkh.com) led by Moin Khan @ADifferentAgenda. It was quite the adventure. During the time I was there, I felt taken care of by both Moin and the locals. The people elevated the experience from good to great.

Pakistan is like Switzerland and China put together. Switzerland because of the beautiful mountains and majesty of the peaks, and China because of the third world country. The people are very friendly. Many locals came up to me asking me if I liked Pakistan, if I would tell my friends about it, and offered to have me come over to their home to eat. In fact, some offered me their business card and said call them if I ever ran into any trouble.

The riding portion was tough for me. I had never done a motorcycle tour before and this was my first experience on a 14 day ride through pavement, gravel, dirt, sand, rocks, creeks, and Pakistani traffic. All in all, I made it safely back to the starting point of our tour. Through encouragement of everyone there, I made it! This tour is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Would I recommend it for the adventurous? Absolutely! Pakistan is just stunningly gorgeous.

We are told from the media that Pakistan is unsafe, that there is civil unrest. Everywhere I went, I did not see indications of that. What I saw was a peaceful and friendly country, very welcoming to visitors. There were lots of handshakes, smiles, and selfies from the locals. If you ever get the privilege to visit, I am almost certain the experience would broaden your horizon.

Got my new passport need to send it to get Visa.

If you have the time, i recommend going down to LA to get the visa in person. They may want to contact Moin by phone, and they might give you a bit of a runaround, but you'll get the visa same day. Actually in 3 hours. The office is only open 9 till noon.

If you mail it in, you could wait weeks not knowing what is happening.

Yea!! If you're traveling and need your passport back urgently then get an appointment and drive down to the consulate yourself. but if you're not in a hurry for your passport then just mail it in. The visa process apparently has been worked on by the govt. and is much more efficient. A group of german bikers came a few weeks ago and they

Actually UDRider has already been to pakistan once, why am I even trying to help him :rofl :twofinger
