That first photo. It has a frown like it knows what RDP is going to do to it. Also a bit of excitement like it's never gone so fast.
This is all I could think of when I read that and saw the frown :rofl

The idea behind this was that none of the teams who had remained in the series should lose out just because Suzuki wanted to return. When it became clear that the teams which were candidates to aid Suzuki were really up to supporting a full factory effort, that idea was quietly dropped.
.....
Dorna were forced to look for a solution, and that solution is to alter the other variable in the equation. It now looks as if Suzuki is to be admitted as a new entry, with the grid size increasing to 26 slots.
....
So the MotoGP grid could grow as large as 28 entries, and this in turn creates a problem for Dorna. The reason to limit the grid to 24 entries was to act as a quality control, and to restrict payouts to the teams.
Dorna appear to have found a way to address this issue as well. According to a report on the MCN website, Dorna is currently looking at cutting support for the teams that finish last in the championship.
Ridiculous in some ways though. PBM and one or two other teams should not be there. Those grid slots aren't worth what they want either.
i do think its hilarious that Dorna never thought about paying crappier teams less. F1 does this pretty heavily; the constructors championship is EVERYTHING in F1
Come on man this is a Racing forum....let's leave F1 out of this since they don't actually race and instead do formation laps under strict orders from their team boss.
There is no reason to limit the grid to 24 bikes and not 26 bikes. The CRT bikes down in 24th are so slow they aren't a factor in anything except making the last couple laps more exciting when they get in the way of the real MotoGP bikes. Blue Flag Racing would be a good team name for most of the CRT's....
See, that's why I have a huge problem with having too many bikes on the grid... backmarkers. There should be no backmarkers in MotoGP. If you can't hang, go somewhere else. There are plenty of other venues to ride in. Races shouldn't be determined by lapped traffic, especially not at that level.
My point being, I'm fine with a 24 bike limit.
So is Dorna, up until their efforts to make it cheaper to be part of the program resulted in more people wanting a piece of the action. It's funny, cause more participants would equate more revenue, but first at the possible increase in expense to Dorna.
But hey, you gotta spend money to make money!
