Aren't there rubber pads on it so it doesn't scratch the swingarm? Not too sure, I have the Spooled version...

You know... now that you mentioned it, I think you're right. I'm just too lazy right now to head down to the garage and check. :)

Yeah, I have the same SS stand from pitbull, and it has a covering that will protect the swingarm. DA, what technique do you use to get the bike from the sidestand onto the pitbull? Just curious, as I've never tried it by myself yet. I've had my roommate help me do it so far.

Liquid, where'd you buy the spools for your '02 R1? Any suggestions? Looking for a pair to buy for mine.

I ordered em from Tricktape. They're just the 6mm spools. Anyone will do. Getting it up on the stand is easy. Kinda align the stand behind the bike. Balance the bike. I usually just lean it against my waist on the left side, and use the passanger strap to help balance it. Then I line up the stand, and push down. Once the stand is balancing the bike, I move to the back and lift it. You might wanna try it doing yourself w/ your friend there to push the bike back down on the stand if you feel uncomfortable doing it. To drop it back down, I usually drop it real slow until the wheel touches, grab the passenger strap, and make sure it falls back on the stand... Hope that helps...

Just place the stand about where you want it (pads touching the swingarm), holding the stand with my right hand. Then I use my left hand to straighten the bike up (my rear seat has one of those straps, so I use that). Once the bike is straight, I start pushing down with the right hand.

Once the stand is pushing upwards on the swingarms (even if the rear tire is still on the ground), you don't need to hold the bike with your left hand anymore. Then I just use both hands to push the stand all the way down, lifting the bike.

I do just the opposite to let it down.

I made sure my roommate was around the first couple of times I tried this but quickly learned it was no big deal.

I dunno. Never thought to look.

Who's gonna be looking at the bottom side of my swingarm anyways??? :p

Uh, what if your name is "Instance?" :laughing

As you can see, the bottom of the swingarm in the following image, is clearly visible for easy inspection...

:D If you don't have swing arm spools, you can get them installed even if you have a bike that dosen't really have provisions for it...
