dude, I need to get this stand! One person operation. Attach stand and walk it forward to lift. Once bike is up can use my floor jack to lift the front so no need for second stand.

hope it's not too expensive. how come only the UK has stuff like this?

LOL! hey wait, I used to have the same bike! :martian

maybe I get the Handy's on sale, can't beat the price at $99 for both front & rear stands.

check this info I found about Handy / Kowa Tools!

"The front & rear stands from "Handy" are excellent products. The bike stands are made by Kowa Seiki Precision Tools from Japan, the company makes some of the best motorcycle tools you can buy. Kowa Seiki started selling products here in America about 2 years ago, go to www.kowatools.com and check out their website. I have the same exact front & rear stand as pictured in the magazine, plus I have the front end stand that lifts from underneath the triple clamps. The stands have a nice design and are very well made. The stands are super strong, construction is excellent, and have a nice painted finish. The rear stand has a unique adjustment system, the main body has hollow square tubes that accepts chromed solid steel adapters that slide in & out to fit almost any size swingarm. The adapters have big think rubber pads on both sides, plus a big plastic knob to tighten the adapters in place. I purchased my stands almost 2 years ago when Kowa Seiki first started selling their products. I picked up my stands (post is circa '01) during a winter clearence sale at 50% off and still paid more than the price in the mag picture. I think I paid $69 for the front stand and $75 for the rear stand at 50% off. In my opinion, these are probably the best stands you can get for the money. Also, you can get nice spooled adapters for the rear stand if you have a spooled swingarm. PS, I don't work for Kowa tools but they do have real nice products, check out their website."

Handy stands rock. I have a rear and the head pin style for the front and I love it. The pnly prob I had w/ the front is were the brake lines split into 2. The splitter is mounted in such a location that in puts a sharp bend in on of the lines. So I have to turn the bars to the right as not to tweak the line to much.

OOHHH well. I guess its an excuse to get new front braided lines:D

thanks for the info! I'm still undecided which way to go on this. just how beefy are the Handy's compared to the Pits? I like the handle extension on the Pits and appreciate durable "tools".

here's the deal on Pro Stands:

"hello there its Richard from abba stand, the stand its self is £94-95 and shipping to the USA is around £80 if you would like further information please call Maldon Motorcycles on 01621 854489."

might go the TBR like it's the best of the Handy and the Pit combined plus collapsable.

Yep, I took the same route like Mag..........Handy stands are great, and even better for the price!!!!!

thanks, that does make the most fiscal sense.

standard or bobbin? why didn't they make a truly universal stand with interchangeable attachments like the TBR is beyond me.

update:

"screw waiting"

I went back to Motorcycles Unlimited to patronize them again and there in the back of the store upstairs was my gleaming Pitbull stand :) Hey, had my car and they gave me a new customer discount on everything so there ya go. only had the spooled version so got bobbins too. (and chain lube, another jug of oil + filter, etc.)

now I gotta' cross town to drop off all this stuff in mom's garage, come back, then ride the bike back over to do all this. that's condo life - no mechanical work allowed here - sigh. my chain is waiting so BRB!

I have the SS Rear Pitbull which was nice because when I bought it I had an FZR400 which used spools. Now the F4i uses the standard so I just turned the supports around and no need to buy a new stand! :D

Also, it's easy to use. I prop my bike up on it by myself all the time to clean my chain. :D

it don't scratch the F4i swingarm underneath like that? or did you stick some padding there?

as long as it's stable but I trust your judgement!

kawi gets into the stand sale wars with a possible twist - ad copy implies spools are included? item #K81000-056 $89.95
