Private property towing

You do know that tow companies and their practices are about as close to organized crime as you can get, don't you? Have you ever had your shit towed, and had to pay exorbitant extortion fees to get it back?

These people deserve it. They're blatantly saying "Fuck you" to the guy who warned them.

I would start filming yourself warning them as well in case they play the "we didn't know card".

Or honestly hire someone to come key all their doors, every day.

Well the nice approach didn't work. What do you suggest?

Why are they parking in your lot in the first place? Is the construction job a long job? I have people that park in my lot ocassional and it is annoying because the ey leave trash so I simply do a letter with my letter head on it asking them to please notice the signs of no parking and we are within our rights to tow, and this is out 1st attempt to notify you. If the problem continues to the 3rd attempt your vehicle will be towed at the vehicle owners expense...put it on a envelope and place in the windshield wiper...I've never had to leave 2 letters yet...

Make a copy for yourself and don't forget to date it.

Super Fancy.
I'm curious where you're located? I also work in Santa Clara on Coronado Drive and we're dealing with the exact same problem.

We have other problems here, though, because they have three entrances to their lot, one of which actually goes THROUGH our lot. They're using this one entrance for all of their large deliveries and their huge tractor trailer rigs are dragging mud from their dirt lot through our lot.

Even further annoying when their trailers are queued up in OUR lot waiting to get into THEIR lot, blocking dozens of parking spots.

Hire security guards for one day standing there denying people entrance. Make sure they have GoPros.

We are on the same street but closer to Scott. It was tolerable when there was just one construction project, but now there are 5 or 6 concurrent construction projects around us. It is crazy right now.

Put a big chain across the gate at 3pm one afternoon.
Put a sign which reads 'trespassers will be prosecuted' on it.
Enjoy your new trucks.
:twofinger

Because a bunch of construction guys wouldn't have tools to remove a chain. Esp if no one is around watching them. :laughing

Call the cops and report the vandalism?

I'd probably let the air out of all their tires. With a knife or through the valve stem.

Put up a booth and charge $50 daily for parking. You'll either get some cash or they won't park there... (I doubt you'd get any cash).

Right but I thought the plan was for OP and co to scoot out early before the construction guys' rage peak ? If you're around, sure, call the cops and report vadalism .. and perhaps assault. :laughing

I seem to recall a Clint Eastwood saying.

"You don't fuck with a man's vehicle". Which I truly believe. You don't slash tires. You don't key scratch it. You don't touch it. For one, it's chickenshit and cowardly. For another, it can get you killed or get the shit beat out of you. I've had the shit beat out of me, didn't like it, don't want it to happen again.

They are parking spots. It the big scheme of things, it doesn't matter, just another petty annoyance. These are working men, same as you.

I seem to recall everybody saying "You don't park in someone else's driveway"
You don't get asshole protection just because you're using your "vehicle". You should give people's stuff the same respect they give it...clearly they're not minding the risk of parking illegally.

Such a BS statement ../

"Parking illegally", does not give someone the right, to damage someone's car. So, someone decides to slash the tires. The tires on my Suv were $270 ea. Do you know what I would do to someone that slashed my tires if I caught them? Same with repairing a paint job. Is it worth getting truly fucked up, or possibly killed, over a parking space? Not to me it isn't. And you know how many people have those little lipstick camera's now, right?

Besides the chickenshit coward angle.

I am on your side in that I do not advocate damaging someone's car, but I take issue that someone's car gets a pass simply because it's a car. I would never physically damage someone's car form the reasons you mentioned. It's chickenshit to park on someone's property, especially when they've warned you. The person who keeps doing that is basically saying they either truly don't care what happens to their care, or that they're so naive that they think nobody would dare do something to their precious baby.

Considering how many keyed cars I've seen, clearly many people don't share your "never touch a man's car" philosophy.

Well, the point is, is I don't mess with people's stuff. Period. If I have an issue with something, I'll say something. There have been suggestions here to damage people's stuff. Very bad advice. Like I said. It isn't worth getting killed over, and people have been killed for less. Some people take their cars very seriously. As seriously as we take our bikes.

It's scary we live in a country where violence is an expected response to people defending their property against assholes.
