Prime Day

Eldritch

is insensitive
Amazon is such a different company today. Remember when it was a "cool" company and anytime you had a problem, it was just straight up, "we got you"? It's been so much worse to watch them decline, as opposed to them just being shitty from the get go. If they were shitty from the beginning, you'd be like, "oh yeah that's just how they are".

It still is? I almost never have a problem with anything from them, last time I did it was with trying to buy a streaming rare Lou Ferrigno movie from a shady Prime Video channel last year that had teh wrogn shit posted and was streaming an earlier 1960's film. They straight up sent me a DVD for free. :dunno

^^^ I was wondering about that.

Amazon prime day = amazon Shute day .?

Now how many garbage cans do you need?

...
One of the kickers I just found was a black steel tumbler , the one with silver steel bottom and edges...”no name” brand ($8) but EXACTLY like the one that’s famous.. :wtf
...but lacking the flap that shuts the drinking hole. :wow
You can get the original without the drink hole cover.... mine came that way from Costco. It sucks so I stole my wife's cover one, lol.

A good opportunity to upgrade a computer to SSD.

SSDs are so stupid cheap its insane to not have one now. I recently loaded up a windows machine that was booting from a mechanical drive and I think Moss was growing on my by the time it got to the login screen. I spent $25 throwing a 240gb drive at it to never have to do that again.

Tempted to get on the NVMe train but right now I'm saving my pennies for a 3070.

Fun Junkie
Was about to order the Roku streaming stick plus ($37, rated best streamer for price/features) then I saw WalMart has the same for the same price. So I ran down and bought one.

Got a 3 into 1 HDMI splitter (old TV) and an over the air HD antenna coming from Mr Bezos - then I tell DirecTv to sit n spin on their $160/mo service.

I'm trying to be more mindful of where my money goes so I'm abstaining from Prime Day.

In fact, I think I'll cancel my Prime membership. Not saying I'll never shop on Amazon, but they've become pretty evil with the CIA and NSA partnerships, union busting, shitty pay and conditions for employees, being run by Lex Luthor, etc.

You step on the flag when you buy your xmas gifts that early. :x

:laughing

How about still owning a flip phone?

Or happily driving a 26 year old car and having bicycles and motorcycles 12+ years old?

We did buy a new oven and refrigerator this spring though.

Does that redeem me?

Socialist....the 'modern' term is socialist. (or so I'm told) :laughing

Hey Jeff.

How's the fence repair coming along?

Good times, good times, another freaking Red Flag day(s)! :thumbdown

Maybe buy a new bug out bag on Prime Day?

It's a good confession. For your sins, that'll be four shovings on black friday and two dropped cans for dented discount.

All is well on our scorched Homefront, for now.
We have about 40 feet of backyard fencing that needs to be replaced and the insurance adjuster also decided to have all attic insulation replaced to help remove the permanent 'campfire' smell. I suppose we're getting used to it as we can hardly smell it now but the adjuster said it was "like a punch in the face". If you have any suggestions for a contractor to use I'm all ears.
Overall we having nothing but fantastic things to say about Nationwide Insurance especially considering the ink was barely dry on the policy when the fire hit us.
In terms of this thread, yes.....a couple bug-out bags is on the list. We actually scored a few other things as well due to our recent move. My prettier half found some cool stuff we never knew we needed. (enter gratuitous cash register sound here :laughing)
Wishing you good luck and quite nights sleep regarding the next wave of Red Flag Day fun. Hopefully our side is burned down enough for us to sit this one out....but I'm not counting on it.
