A California State Parks ranger has been stripped of his peace officer status and placed on administrative leave after he was arrested for allegedly driving his state-issued vehicle under the influence of alcohol. A source snapped the above photo of the ranger

Considering how police sometimes respond to video, I have to think the guy that took the pic will not be deemed a hero.

I wish the term "smartphones" fit in a blues song. As in, they are bringin me down man.

No one is safe from the all-seeing little eye. But it adds a bit of credence to something a local kid told me (he was spearfishing for squawfish in the swimming hole by Hidden Springs campsite), "Myers Flat ain't where its at." I guess the ranger needed some liquid refuge from the overall boredom of a redwood summer.

Poor guy, he looks like a nice kid with that little chin patch.
Who knows, maybe he was a great law man & always gave nice people a break.
If so, I hope he doesn't lose his job.

Window down, beer could have been planted on napping patroler?

I would have hoped the CHP would have breathalyzed the guy before he got arrested.

If he has an issue with booze, which it appears that he does, and not just a case of horrible judgement, I hope they guy gets the help he needs.

Not as fast as I look.
What a weird thread. All this barf excusing this guy, without reading the article that states:
“Young displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was detained for a DUI investigation,” said CHP Officer Patrick Bourassa.

Even if he only fell asleep. He carries a weapon and should AT LEAST lock his stupid car, so a barfer couldn't reach in and take the stupid weapon to shoot other stupid barfers.

Rolls with it...
Still don't get what this has to do with Burning Man...

I'm thinking barfers (not gonna call anyone stupid) may be thinking the beer is planted because in the pic the opening of the beer can isn't in position for the ranger to be drinking from it, but pointing towards the picture taker. Maybe I just play too much "Photo Hunt".

Isn't that like convicting someone without all the evidence?

If he was drinking with his right hand, the can is in a logical position, if he turns his wrist to a normal straight position before putting the can in his lap. It doesn't prove anything.
