Super fun ride. Well done NBMC! I’ll be back for sure.

Fun riding with Cabrito and Kfxrider90 and his buddy. Fun group.

Day one was really great riding and I was exhausted by the time we got to Fortuna. Pretty much everything hurt. :laughing

Day two was super chill with more epic scenery finishing up on some familiar roads from past Sheetiron rides so even though I was sore from day 1 it was a great day.

Looking forward to doing this ride again !

I'm curious if anyone did the whole course an a full size adventure bike (not counting Africa Twin 1000cc or bigger).

I concur. Totally awesome ride. Saturday was a test of endurance for sure and the track was a little harder than expected, but all my of my weariness evaporated once we hit Mattole Road.
I really enjoyed the mix of dirt and windy asphalt the best of both worlds.

The guy on the Harley Soft tail was legit! We found his chair on Usal and he claimed it in Shelter Cove...

They Karl the former Prez of the club helped me change my flat after I popped my own tube the first try..

Speaking of Harley I chatted with those guys on Friday when i first got there. They left EARLIER than me I thought I was the first one out because I didn't see anyone. But later before the big log obstacle I saw them going the other direction. I thought they weren't part of our group but they turned around because they couldn't get the bikes around the log. It was 2 R1200GSs and the HD.

Then later I passed them on Usal Road, I can't believe they rode that beast on Usal road that road was hella rough. Someone should try it on a Goldwing!

There were many full size bikes on the ride, 990's 1190's ect & GS1200's.
There was also a guy on an old Honda Mt250 2 stroke!

The terrain would seem on the easy side if you only rode 1/2 of it, but put it all together and it's a challenge! You can brag if you finished it all with no bailouts!
How many would be up for 3 days? the 2nd day would be a loop that finished back at the same hotels, similar in difficulty to day 2.

So is there any other rides similar to this other than the sheetiron?

The Sheetiron is probably the closest in that its in the same area. Family Offroad Adventures Yosemite Dualsport ride is similar but not as long. It's 2 loops out of Buck Meadows.

Hey Guys,

On behalf of the NBMC I just wanted to thank all yu BARF members who joined us on this year's Lost Coast ride. I've been sitting back all week, checking out the comments, pics and videos (awesome video Isaac, thanks.... :thumbup ... hope you don't mind that I shared it with others.... :)...) and it seems like everyone had a good time. That trip through MNF property was especially fun. Hopefully they'll invite us back in the future.

It's been a while since we had such a big group of riders but I think it wasn't too many. We will cap it off at about that level in the future though. The weather cooperated and we had only one injury (that I know of) that was well managed with the help of the Redding Dirt Riders. For the most part all the riders managed to get in before dark despite the goofy gps track issues (mea culpa.... damn I hate Garmin software). Hope you all agree that it was fun and different running the ride in the reverse direction this time.

In addition to supporting the organizations listed on the flier, funds from this event will provide the seed money for the Spring 2020 Sawmill Sprint Enduro at Cow Mt (hopefully, fingers crossed, it's in the works). We are a small club with just a few dozen members so making a few bucks on an event like this goes a long way toward covering the upfront expenses needed for the enduro.

We're kicking around an idea for a North Bay Backroads event in late Spring 2020. I'll be sure to post up here as it comes together.

Cheers!

Brian

Thanks I've always wanted to do this ride and it didn't disappoint.

The tracks were fine for me I did reverse the day 1 on basecamp. There were times where the tracks would be off from the actual road but if I kept riding for a bit it would it would go back on track. One time my GPS froze and I kept riding thinking I was on track until I bumped into another dude that was lost and said it was a dead end ahead haha. So I reset my GPS and saw were were few miles off track. That was an adventure.

I wish I had softer springs in the front those roads were rough.

I will post a ride report when I get around to it. So many events happened backed to I can't keep up and there's an Enduro race this weekend and I'm going to ride the Rubicon next week o_O' livin the life!
