Now, the problem for the XFL becomes where they will play in the middle of Winter and Frozen ass spring? Do they try and get into College Ball Parks? There is a cost associated with trying to play in Baseball stadiums retrofitted for Football. They can't afford their own ball parks. I don't know about all the teams, but I know the New York Guardians are playing in the NY Giants Ball Park. I think the Dallas Team is playing in Arlington at Jerry Jones ball park, but I'm not sure.

I was wondering why Oakland didn't get an XFL team.

Maybe because it's got dirt in the field of play?

(found myself watching a xfl game over the weekend.)

Dallas - Texas Rangers baseball stadium changed to football
Houston - TDECU, the Houston university stadium
LA - Stubhub
Seattle - CLink
StLouis - America's Center - Dome
Tampa - Raymond James - NFL site
NY - Jersey
DC - Audi Field

Weather really isn't an issue at any of the locations.

Biggest problem is going to be continuing to market a league that A) isn't college so there's no alma mater ties, and B) is not even at the skill level of NFL practice squads

Vince is funding it for 4 years. Supposedly year 4 is when they want to sell franchises and make back some of the couple hundred million that it's costing to run the league.

They have a niche to fill, I think.

Practice squad guys don't make that much. I reckon they can pull practice squad guys with Salary if they really want them. If it can draw enough attention, it could become the B League they have been looking to sustain all these years.

For Oakland, I don't think they have a ballpark that can support Football.
The Oakland Arena seats around 19k when fitted for Basketball, I don't even think it is big enough for a football field, and of course no one is going to play on the Toileseium.

if I remember, practice squad guys are on minimum of8-10 grand per week, plus they're training with the 53 man roster and use the team facilities, etc.

A non-QB max in the XFL is like 5 grand per week (2 grand every 2 weeks normal pay check, $1600 bonus for being on the active roster, $2200 bonus if your team wins)

I'd be surprised if a practice squad guy left to play on an XFL team in the hopes he gets noticed.

They can definitely bridge the gap between the NFL season, college, and all the offseason combine/draft/etc bullshit though.

Was looking for something after the Niners loss.

I watched half a game. Saw some familiar faces/names on the field.

There was a Season 1? Well, whatta know....

StL has sold out the entire lower bowl of the dome the Lambs used to play in. That's 30K.

Heard that they had a 2.9 rating on tv, that's already NFL regular season numbers.
