Hahaha poor Alex never had a chance

Nobody but MM has a chance on that Honda. When he jumps ship, retires, injures himself into oblivion, Honda will be behind the curve for at least two years, and I'm being generous because they probably have the best R&D.

That 2nd seat is just page 6 fodder...

Lots of news from the Aprilia MotoGP camp today:

1) MotoGP.com; Aleix Espargaro signs two-year Aprilia deal

2) WTF department: Some bullshit going on. The CAS will hear Andrea Iannone's appeal of his 18 month suspension BUT WADA has decided they want a full four-year ban reinstated on Iannone should the appeal fail. The whole thing is convoluted. Motomatters has posted a short explanation of the whole drama.

It's not really convoluted. Ianonne says meat contamination for a drug that can't be orally ingested, and WADA wants what the rules allow. Each side has a request.

Didn't WADA agree to the 18 month suspension? Its a bit convoluted to move the goal posts during the appeal process. Do I have it wrong about WADA agreeing with the 18 month suspension?

No, that was the punishment handed down by the FIM CDI. There was no agreement to my knowledge. As is the nature, generally if there's an agreement, appellate rights get forfeited and we wouldn't be at this point. But I'm not sure how it works there.

Thats gonna hurt the surplus lawnmower and chainsaw engine market in Italy along with improvised megaphone exhaust fabricators.

If HRC dumped Alex it makes absolutely no sense. They got him for the future. They obviously thought he was going to be able to be competitive, unless they were strong armed into signing him by Mark. I love Pol, but he's no spring chicken and he's only shown brief moments of being near the front. So, they dump Alex without really giving him a chance to prove himself ? Doesn't sound like HRC. Maybe Puig doesn't like Alex?

Well, since nothing is set in stone, I think Pol would be quite the development/#2 rider for HRC. He's really the only guy who's been fast enough enabling the KTM to get any TV coverage, notwithstanding the gorgeous livery of the Tech 3 team. And seeing how the KTM has to be ridden at its limits in order to make it fast, and with no warning throw you away, I can see him working out on the RCV. I don't think he would win anything, but I can see podiums sniffs in his future.

As for Alex, it never made sense at HRC. He's more Zarco's brother than Marc's.

It'd be cooler if they did night races on the ones they're doubling up on. One day race and one night race, just so things don't get too repetitive

I think the 2nd races will look very diff anyway. the factory teams won't have their classic advantage of "we find the setup faster". at a minimum, the mid-pack will be crazy at those rounds. maybe the podium will be impacted as well.
