1 Fabio Quartararo Yamaha 70
2 Andrea Dovizioso Ducati 67 -3
3 Jack Miller Ducati 56 -14
4 Brad Binder KTM 49 -21
5 Maverick Viñales Yamaha 48 -22
6 Takaaki Nakagami Honda 46 -24
7 Valentino Rossi Yamaha 45 -25

Championship looks pretty close and wide open with 7 riders seperated by 25 points, basically a race win. This season really going to come down to consistency. Each person has either DNF'd once or collected single digit points. Nakagami is the only non-podium placed in the top 7.
With Ducati not having good feelings with the Michelin, Yamaha issues, Binder a rookie, and Nakagami still chasing his first podium on a mutt bike this is all very open 25 points.

Re: Yamaha Brakes

Post race interview, Vale and Franco said everyone was having brake issues. Vale had more issues in race 1 and then in race 2 it was under control.

Meragalli, said Fabio, Franco, and Vale used the newer Brembo brake package and Maverick chose to use the old style. Until they get the bike to Japan they can only guess what the issue is.

thx 4 freni update -
I still don't understand how Yams suffer more than others, odd.....

Valentino said because they're down on power against most of the grid at this track, they have to make their lap time on the brakes.
They're likely braking later and deeper than everyone else causing them to run hotter than most.

He jumped at 210-215kph and that bike likely maintained most of that speed into the wall.
Really makes me think that engine is done, especially considering the front when and forks drove into the radiator.

Fun stuff.

Championship is up for grabs.

Mav..balls man. I have imagined having to jump off not knowing if I could really do it it or not. :applause

The red made the action better and screwed Mir and Taka.

Shit happens.

The only good thing about 2020 is MotoGP is fucking awesome. :banana

R3DS!X

Whatever that means
It looked like it was working for Pol (who saved a set of softs).

Only worked for Pol because he wanted the mediums (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) for the whole race and then when presented with a half race he took the softs and why not? The last corner didn't work out for him tho. Maybe not enough intelligence lol! :laughing

Steee-riiike!
There isn't an alpha dog everyone is gunning for this year.

I can only imagine this is Dovi's only year left to legitimately compete for the championship. If he doesn't do it...sheesh. CMon Dovi!

Shaggy

Zoinks!!!!
Haga deserves it! Lol

My hopes for 2020:

- KTM manufacturer’s championship
- Dovi ZOOGs the shit out of this season for a ‘ship
- Nakagami gets a race win
- Zarco gets a race win
- Miller continues to finish in Top 5 consistently

I kinda feel a little bad for him lol. Hell of a race, Yamaha needs to get their shit together. Bailing off a factory GP bike is amateur hour.

Been saying it for years: #sacklinjarvis

Re front brakes failing, I was surprised to hear one of the commentators say that all of the guys knew what happened and could relate - they’d all been there one time or another. First I’ve heard of it in the premier class.

over on OG FB road racers pg, hotshoe Mike Baldwin had it happen twice -
once AMA & once GP, a pit error in both cases, he Mav'd it both times.
