Honda will build the RCV replica streetbike to be sold. It's long been confirmed, and if you want a more recent confirmation, Oxley has blurb about it in his latest CRT-centric article, where he muses about the same thing I've been musing about this whole lease engine/buy production racer options that GP is about to get; would you pay for things you don't own, or would you pay to own, all for the sake of competitiveness?

...(Shuhei Nakamoto) refused to confirm or deny speculation that the bike will share parts – crankcases, say – with Honda’s RCV replica streetbike due out in 2014.

How much did Dovi pay out of his own pocket for those brakes? :laughing

That was a great Oxley article as usual, but Shinichi Itoh broke 200 mph on a fuel-injected (which was new technology for GP bikes at the time) Honda NSR500 way back in the 1990's, so I wonder why he said the Aprilia Cube was the first MotoGP bike to break 200 mph? Is he playing with the word difference between 500GP and MotoGP when it's still the same class?

Cheers to Sic58, as well as a way to remember the young champion who is still in the hearts of all, it is a fundraising project in favor of Marco Simoncelli Foundation Onlus committed to the restructuring of the former holiday home of Santa Marta Coriano destined to become a day care center for disabled children.

The idea comes from Paul Mensi, owner of the winery The two oaks, which combined his passion for wine to the one for the MotoGP and, in particular, the estimate for the Sic. The result is a collection of limited edition bottles of Franciacorta Brut Luis coated glass fiber with carbon rivetrificato label celebratory titanium.

We are four races into the season, I would not crown anyone anything yet, lot of racing still left to be done.

Also, yahama had one bad race where clearly something was off, i doubt that means they are in trouble.

This. The season is long from over. Honda has the fastest bike, most fragile rider and also newest and most aggressive rider. One single fuckup by Mickey Mouse could sideline the team for the season. Rossi may get his shit together and may not. I accept that he's probably not going to go back to winning, but perhaps more podium finishes. Cal is the man to keep an eye on.

Get fucked up on Sic wine, cry tears of sadness.

Sounds like a really depressing drunken evening.

Brut is a dry sparkling wine; think French Champagne or Spanish Cava (or Italian Franciaorta, I just found out).

Dayum, did ya'll watch Le Mans from the onboard video yet? In the closing laps, Marquez went past Hayden like Nicky was standing still. :wtf

Marquez got off the line ok but seems like when he shifted from 1st to 2nd the bike started rooster tailing and half the field passed him before the first corner.

34 almost went 93 on Frenchie:

"......Le Mans, in my day, always meant a brutally hot raceday and a lot of fans. We had some good racing in France back in my career. The one that comes to mind is the 1988 race at Paul Ricard when after a huge four bike battle for the entire race. Wayne Gardner's Honda stopped on the last lap while he was leading.

That gave the win to Lawson, second place to Christian Sarron and third place to me. For me, it removed a huge burden off my back when we went by Wayne's sputtering Honda, because I knew I was going to probably feel pretty bad after I had to knock Christian Sarron down for third place on the last lap at his home Grand Prix. As it happened, Gardener stopped and I finished right off Christian's exhaust pipe so no apology needed....."

I just watched the '88 French GP from Paul Ricard Circuit on youtube a few days before the LeMans GP. French rider Christian Sarron was making some amazing passes, it was his home GP and he was feeling his oats.
