I'm not going to watch that video after your description, but I sure hope they recover soon and completely. Positive thoughts headed their way.

The video is distressing, because people are seriously injured, but it's not grisly. It's hosted by a fireman/EMT who talks about things like accident scene management, triage, things the responders did well, why they did certain things, etc. On the whole, I found it to be one of the most positive/useful crash aftermath videos I've seen...

Ah...thanks for the info. I think I'll still pass--I'm a little overly empathetic about these things sometimes. Perhaps I'll pluck up the courage and skip to the end.

full recovery

Agree. I wish them a full recovery. It is a long road to recovery with Max Wrist's broken leg and 2WheelJesus' brain injury.

Looks to me as if the accident was a result of Max Wrist slowing down unexpectedly and 2WheelJesus hitting Max Wrist at his left rear, breaking Max Wrist's left leg and then 2WheelJesus went left, hitting the metal pole, bending the front wheel and maybe hitting the pole with his head.

Regarding "maybe their luck ran out", it is not so much a matter of luck as it is a matter of "if one lives by the sword." I wish them and their love ones best recovery wishes.

Two fucking hours, with fucking ads and self-promotion. No thanks.

tl;dw: Two motorcyclists crash on Glendora Ridge Road. No video of the crash. Both seriously hurt. Other riders don't seem to understand how important it is to call 911, even they have to ride some distance to get a signal. Possibly, condition updates near the end.

Predicting this happening was like predicting the sun was going to come up.
I hope they heal and equally important I hope they learn from this.

The DDFM vids are very educational and should almost be required viewing for all street riders. He covers the medical side of crashes and crash scene management. I've learned a lot from watching a few of his vids. I've been to a few crashes and I've seen the uninformed running around with their thumbs up their asses.

This is actually a very good video if you use it as a learning tool.

As a San Francisco fireman that has seen this scene played out many times I can understand the panic and confusion of the average person.

I have not watched the entire video. I stopped at 12 minutes. And im not sure if I want to watch the rest. And the reason is because i'm watching the riders in the video do more harm on the two riders. And that is just as disturbing as the actual incident.

Years ago, some of you may remember that I would give first aide classes at Moto Shop (aka Moto Guild). These classes were motorcycle incident specific but the basic premise was how to control a scene and offer the best on scene care before the licensed first responders arrived.

In our lifetime we will all eventually come upon a medical scene where we might need some basic skills. Whether its a motorcycle accident. A mountain bike accident. Skateboarding or surfing or a family member falling down a staircase. Or maybe, you are first on scene to an injury by violence.

Everyone needs to know the basics. When its your time to act, will you do it "heroically" or will you be the one standing there pushing a motorcycle back on its sidestand???

A few years ago, I came upon a rider that had a severe high speed offroad accident in the Mendocino forest during OMC's annual SheetIron 300. Fortunately, I had a small group of riders (with no first aide knowledge) that I was able to use to control the scene and save this person life. His injuries consisted of an open and protruding fracture and bleed. We got him airlifted away to Santa Rosa General.

Is this something that is worthwhile to our community? Is there interest with this group? Seeing this YouTube video should make it real for many of you. It doesn't get much more realistic than this.

IMHO (no training other than first aid and a Doc Wong CPR class), a rider who happens upon a crash should:
  • protect victims from traffic
  • keep them breathing
  • stop arterial bleeding
  • call 911
Get first aid and CPR training. But if I were a victim, I most definitely would NOT want some random rider who comes along applying knowledge from a YouTube video to what he guesses is a brain or spinal injury.

I like DDFM videos. He does a good job helping us understand how crashes happen and how to prevent them. To keep the crash and close-call videos coming, he has to be respectful of victims, no matter how stupid they actually were. Actions speak for themselves--whether it was an unpredictable event, a bit of carelessness, or outright self-destruction--so there's no need for him to pile on.

But FFS, two hours??? I get it. He's making money, maybe even a living, doing these. But people with lives have other things to do.

As to the victims in this instance... They're making money on YouTube promoting reckless riding, to the detriment of motorcycling. No sympathy.

The 2 hour video is more then accident scene management. He explains the mechanics of the injuries suffered. Not all his vids are 2 hours. He also states that he is not making any money doing these videos. The donations cover the cost of production. The only money he makes is from the live seminars that he holds.

MaxRAPIST? Too bad he didn't die in that crash. The woman wasn't his wife, but he did beat and rape the woman and he raped children as well, and was convicted at court martial by the United States Army, sentenced to prison and reduced to E-1, and he is back at it...

It's in the Army Times, and other sources.

I spent a few minutes looking around. All I could find was a bunch of Youtuber/instagramer/redditers saying it's him but they are all rehashing shit they found on youtube/instagram/reddit.
Not saying it's not him.
