My love, the Jazz and Blues influence on Chris Randall seriously sounds nothing like Slayer. Like, the time of the music is atypical for a Slayer song, different instruments and distortion are used, and I am honestly wondering how well you know Slayer, because when I was a teenager, and they only had 5 albums, I used to carry all 5 around with me in a bag on Tape and CD, in case one type of player wasn't available where I arrived...

Helmet... because they should be... and I'm seeing them next Thursday
I would say 6/10, I loved the guitarist but the vocals were too slow for me. But I think I would enjoy their concert. Have fun and post some pics!

I actually never liked Slayer with the exception of raining lol it always seemed that the drummer was playing a different song than the others to me. I know, it freaks people out and I need to turn my metal card in but I never could stand them :laughing Pantera, Dio, ozzy I'm your girl. I knew every mettalica song by heart. Even anthrax and Megadeath but could not stand Slayer so you are right saying I don't know them :laughing

And I didn't get through the first line on your song because it broke my top 10 rule! :x :laughing

I admit, Tom Araya's vocals were always garbage, but Hanneman, King, and Lombardo were unparalleled in their ability to do instrumental thrash metal, if only one of the guys had had Kirk Hammet's Metal Solo ability, they would have been the greatest metal band of all time instrumentally. Araya's vocals have always been crap though, LOL.

Well, try this one. Probably my favorite song from the Zoth Ommog Golden Age of Industrial EBM

Genre: Goth/Industiral/EBM
Year: 1992
Band: Psychopomps
Song: Godshit

will leave it to others to score, but it reminds me of my first trip to berlin. bleak, yet fascinating.

9/10 ... reminded me of Mr Glass. :dunno

Genre: classical
Year: 2002
Band: Philip Glass
Song: Naqoyqatsi movie score

8/10, I never really got into P. Glass for some reason (maybe afraid that I couldn't climb back out), but appreciate some of what I've heard of him. His score for the first movie in the series is a powerful addition/ symbiotic realtionship with the visuals.

Re: G.G. Allin as being the punkest person to walk this planet, I would strongly disagree. He lost 3.5 punk points for not killing himself on stage as promised. He was more like a Maximum Rocknroll poster boy for edgy/transgressive behavior, that appealed to surburban kids. Tomata du Plenty is much more my idea of what embodies punk rock.

Punk
Late 70's
Screamers
Vertigo

No way, Tomata died in his 50's of natural causes and seems like a real artist. The whole point of punk is useless, talentless, ignorant, nihilistic, hedonistic, self destruction ala Sid Vicious.

7/10

Not really my cup of tea, but I love the presented vision of electronic punk that paved the way for New Wave in the 80's. Certainly points are lost for the low production quality typical of punk rock, and if this song had been recorded in a proper studio with good production, it would probably get pushed up to an 8 for me.

Now, while my Finnish forefathers bade me fight with anything Swedish, I have to say I find the metal experiment that is Amaranth very interesting, particularly the 3 Vocalist style that is pretty distinctive for them. Pairing the unique vocal mix with glam and power metal riffs and drums presents a product that seems influenced by nu-metal, they present a pop friendly product that seems the love child of Korn and Evanescence.

These guys dumped into my feed on youtube a fair amount, and after exposure to enough songs, I had to begrudgingly admit I really like them.

Love the genre but the typical death metal guy vocals really took away from the song.

For my song I choose a cover of Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks" by METAWAR:

LOL, no need to apologize. I think that song is fun, but certainly far from a favorite of mine, and of course you are entitled to your taste. Abney Park is a ridiculous band, it's not like you were dropping a 4 on James Brown or Fats Domino or something. :laughing

3/10

I am not a good person to rate this song. This is my sweet spot for musical hatred. He mentions the, "Summer of Love," in like the opening line and does the whole thing on an acoustic guitar. I will give him 3 points for his good voice and good guitar skills. He can sing and play, but this song reeks of hippies chilling on a blanket in afternoon sun in Golden Gate Park and that is pretty much a vibe that will send me into a rage faster than damn near any other piece of art.

Genre: Songs for unstoppable heroes who cannot be beaten
Year: 2015
Band: JAM Project
Song: THE HERO!

The Song is mostly in Japanese, so I provided the link with lyric translation, just because.
