Never heard it before.
Even forgive the guitar player for putting a capo on an electric.

Thin Lizzy
Dancing in the Moonlight

7/10

Just really good for something that is really not my bag. The Funk stylings of the bass line and the saxophone accompaniment with the young Rock and Roll era vocals really sounded more 50's to me than late 60's, which I reckon is why I was not horrified by it. Despite the classic style, some modern guitar work made it feel fresher than another Buddy Holly or Elvis tune. The hair is completely and utterly ridiculous, which makes the viewing more enjoyable.

Genre: EBM (Synthpop)
Year: 2002
Band: Covenant (Sweden)
Song: Bullet

C'mon, that is one of the biggest Trance tracks to drop in the last 20 years. 9/10, but bonus point, because it is from the Old Country. :D

Genre: Funk
Year: 1985
Band: James Brown (USA)
Song: Living in America

I will warn you all right now, there is only one god damn correct score for this one!

5/10 too raw chasing the mass appeal.

Dancing in the Moonlight (again)

9/10 ... love Mr Corgan doing modern mellow.

Genre: Opera ...?
Year: 2012
Band: Luciano Pavarotti/James Brown
Song: It's A Man's Man's Man's World

Mr Brown holding his own with Mr Pavarotti ... :ride

8/10

I believe you mean Luciano holding his own with Mr. Brown, and I would reckon just barely. I give the song 6 for being worse than the original, but 2 points for the epic nature of both titans sharing a stage.

Genre: Motown R&B
Year: 1966
Band: The Temptations
Song: Ain't too proud to beg

Catchy tune, but crying, begging, and sleeping on your lover's doorstep all night, in an attempt to convince them not to leave you, is very poor relationship advise.

Rainbow Girls

Hard to hate on the godfather of soul but I'm not a huge fan.

Artist: Machine Head
Song: Davidian
Because the 90s were the best decade for metal

Didn't realize that the red headed stepchild (metal) post was overlooked. I'd rate it as 4/10, most metal does not do much for me.

Edit: Would increase to a 6/10, if the vocals were removed.

Townes Van Zandt
(Song starts at about 50 seconds into clip)

...

It is a cover song, so other bands doing their version of it is likely, not familiar with the original performer, Alvin Robinson. The Rainbow Girls are playing at the Saint in Reno this friday as part of the Off Beat Music festival. Going to have to keep an eye open for that movie, Blaze, looks interesting!
