Just wanted to pop in and say thanks again! Donations are still being received and will be passed to Clarence who fronted the money to purchase of the bikes.

So what is the break even point for the dude that fronted the cash? From what I recall seeing it was like $2400 for the bikes and a couple hundred more for the gift certificates? Is that right? So the total donated so far is like 60% of what was needed?

Is this true? :wow

I thought the bikes were discounted to around $1600 by the dealer, and the money for training was anything over the $1600 collected. :confused

If so, I can donate more.

$2400 was the OTD price for the bikes. Clarence who fronted the cash is outside of BARF so if we wanted to make this a pure BARF donation, than yes we are short.

I just assumed this was purely a Barfer effort. So did Clarance, have others outside of Barf, donating to this cause, or was he helping this family, and we were just helping to defray some of his expenses?

I'm am just confused if we had a specific amount we were trying to raise.

Nope, this was a multi-part effort. We didn't have a specific amount set.
In my view, we all helped with this and Clarence also was able to use this (as was BARF) for some advertising purposes. Clarence owns a Hummer Accessory business. I think ~$1700 was pretty good on BARF's part. Goodtimes Kawi in Sacramento did sell the bikes at Cost+tax so we did get a pretty good discount.

My first bike ever was a kawasaki 60cc two stroke. Aside from the engine seizing every once in a while I loved that thing.

Above all I like to play.
Who are our television folks? IIRC we have a couple here...

Who would know if it's possible to get a copy of whatever was produced just for the kind folks of BARF?

Here is a little update for you all.

Barf and Mystery School are going to provide a MSF Dirtbike school day at Rich's place on January 24th.

I was amazed at what you good people provided for this family and wanted to help too.

I am a firm believer in education on two.. so I thought sending them to school was a good call. I contacted Rich and we worked it out and Mom has confirmed the boys can attend.

Rich is a brilliant instructor and I am sure the kids are going to learn a lot and the whole family can have a blast at the Ranch! :ride :banana :ride :thumbup

More on Rich's dirt bike schools can be found here: http://www.richoliver.net/MSFpage.html

He still has a few spots open for this one so if you want to take a good step in your dirt riding you can join in the fun. Great for kids.. absolutely a good thing for your peace of mind and for their skillset.

Looking forward to seeing the pics!

wow what the fuck!..it had to be a kid that stole it..who else would steal a 90 cc? no actual street rider wants that kinda karma on there back well maybe some dumbass?

Dude, I worked with a guy who we referred to as "the criminal". He had a little brother who, quote "was always getting fucked by the police". Said little brother, at 19 or 20, stole somebody's kx65 and yz250, both nearly new bikes, and rode the shit out of the kx till it was hammered and blown. Both brothers rode the yz, but sadly neither wadded it up and killed themselves. I tried drilling it into him that some poor little kid had his favorite toy stolen, but it fell upon deaf ears.

Criminals don't care about how it affects others, or worse yet they take pleasure in knowing they'll be taking away the hard earned fun of others.
