Kawi bringing back the 636

have to ask, since i'm ign'ant on the subject:

do they have to refile the paperwork every year for continuing engines (as in, the current 599cc engine continues production as is, and the 636 slots alongside)? or does the paperwork filing only come into play with a new engine, or substantial changes to the existing (approved) engine?

Darkness!

Where's the kick starter?
Exactly. Bring back the 750 class.

I wouldn't buy a 600 because everyone I've rode has been gutless down low and a liter bike is at times more than you need.

I'd like to see what Kawi can bring to compete with the Gixxer 750. The Gixxer's been called "The Perfect Sportbike" for years. In a class of one really.

C'mon Team Green! Bring some REAL grunt to the game!

Major PITA
Make it a 750 and you something to talk about.
I find it hard to believe a 6% increase in displacement feels much more than a 6% increase in power.
My ass isn't sensitive enough to detect 6%.

I'll bet that if you jumped on your bike and it had 6% LESS, you'd go"MMMMM, somethings off here!"

I've read that the 600 will continue to be sold in Japan, so apparently that meets the requirement of some racing series. Don't know. :dunno

Interesting. I expected BPF but didn't expect damping to be restricted to one leg. I wonder if the other side does damping at all, or if it just holds a spring.

also that preload adjuster looks kinda tricky to adjust, I wonder why they didn't use a more standard hex head there.

yeah I don't recognize what bit you'd need to use.

the steering damper has pin in head anti-theft tamper resistant bolts. I think those are new.

Easily defeated by a quick trip to harbor freight. Anyway I stopped by mission motorcycles to look at it last week and it turns out the damper is an option this year. I didn't get the price, but it's probably not cheap.
