I've been riding for almost 4 years. Yes, I see myself riding until I am physically unable to do so (which I hope is a LONG time!). My husband has been riding for 20 years and feels the same way.

I started in 78, but I think I only have about 10 years of actual riding. There were years I had a bike and didn't ride and years I didn't have a bike but wanted to ride. I now have one and want to ride and want another one. Maybe 70-80K miles. I know I used to be faster, or at least I think I was.

I've been riding since October 2008 (so 6.5 years) and don't plan on stopping unless I can't physically sit on the bike anymore.

27 years. Street, track, dirt. I will def attempt to ride my entire life. For me, nothing takes the place of riding a motorcycle in the canyon. Also, I enjoy seeing other countries from a motorcycle perspective. Spent 3 weeks in 2014 riding around Ecuador, saw and did things that would have never been possible without that triumph tiger 800xc. So yes I'm riding for life or until I physically can't do it anymore.

Sooo, what is the record in here?

I've been at it ever since one of my brother's got a Rupp Sprint mini bike in the late 60s. I did have a brief gap in riding from 1985 to 1993. So maybe about 40 years excluding the hiatus. Still had a bike, it just wasn't running and I didn't have the time, money, or place to work on it. Still got it too. :afm199

I can remember when

Twin leading shoe front brakes were a high tech set up.
When EVERYBODY could clear clogged jets in a carb.
When the Windjammer I fairing came out.
When 103 octane was $0.37 a gallon.
When the police could catch you with his Harley.

And if you go wide in a corner I WILL pass you on the inside. Still.

I consider it only 12 years. Learned to ride 5 years earlier but I'm not counting that time.

I can remember when all my riding buddies owned and rode. Like the $0.37 103 octane gas... its a thing of the past.

If you read back a ways we had a 60 year plus...

Several are like me.. and are close to fifty.. I hit 49 years this Xmas. I only stopped for 6 months after college. Dad sold "his" bike leaving me with just a cage until I saved enough for a 79 RM250.

.

At 36 pages I figured I'd just ask. Looks like you're exactly a year and a day older than I am but my break from riding put me back a few years. Hopefully we'll both have more than 60 years in the saddle before hanging up the helmets.

I can lane split!!
Started riding at 2013, loving every minute and ride every day... not sure how to drive a car anymore. :D

Learned on a friend's Hodaka Wombat circa 1972.
Bought my first motorcycle, a new 1974 Yamaha RD350, in 1975.
Survived dozens of street and racing incidents from 0mph (while sitting
at a light got cleaned out by a car ricocheting from a 45mph t-bone)
to 105mph (racing - taken out by a squid). still walking talking and riding.
still fat dumb and happy.
