FLCL?
Wasn't there a study done people who post the most about how happy their relationship is on FB are in least secure relationship?
Seems similar.

Admit it OP, you're bored and lonely. Knock up some lady, they're good at trapping you into that, get married and raise a glob of kids. You'll never be bored again.

You're looking at this wrong.

send a card to them as well. Make it a collage.

pictures of yourself sleeping in on a weekend
picture of "recently watched" list that doesn't have kids shows
picture of your refrigerator full of adult food/beer
picture of you wearing clothes not covered in baby debris

etc etc

Was going to post the same thing. :laughing

Screw the societal pressure to marry and absolutely get past the biological pressure to procreate. These people should be reminded that they messed up in life. :twofinger

I know this is a bit early to bring this up, but I have a slew of friends / coworkers most of whom just got married and are in the process of having kids.

I don't know this became a thing, but I'm almost certainly expecting and dreading the spam of family photo cards (glossy 5"x7" professional photos with generic holiday greeting) that's going to bombard my mailbox this Christmas. For the record, I have nothing against Christmas, or families, or kids, but I'd really prefer not to be subjected to the fact that I am still single and their lives are full of joy. :teeth

Is there a way to even politely refuse these cards?

I love getting physical cards. Although the recent popularity of cheap photo cards (single-sheet cards) aren't my favorites (because they don't standup by themselves without support).

I'd put the cards up until mid-Jan then shred the ones I don't want to protect their privacy. Here's a secret (wife thinks I'm weird for it): I like to compare the number of cards I get against my friends (in secret).

Normally, the cards include more than just the photo + generic greetings; e.g. kids names, ages, recent events, etc. Very useful info for people like us who are not on FB or similar. In fact, I think more and more of my friends and family are finally "getting it" that it is irresponsible to put kids info/pics online.

I always look forward to the Christmas card from my wife's friend Stephanie. My favorite so far is a picture of Alice Cooper (in typical golf attire) pretending to choke her. Another favorite is her with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and SHE'S the one with her tongue out.
