Yikes!! Glad to see you're okay. You can probably contact Sunset Scavenger and find out who was driving that truck if you give them the info. Make a complaint, file a report, something. Still yikes though. Good luck!

No, those are different, 'illegal' trucks, they don't have a company whatsoever. They basically steal the loot from under the nose of the Official Company (Sunset Scavenger/recology/whatever) .. even though the city probably pays the company dough already..

Nope, this was on Valencia, so the truck and I were at about the same speed for several lights. So hearing a motor behind me didn't cause any alarm. I'm pretty sure my exclamation of "what the f!" work everyone on that block. It takes sheer determination, er I mean stupidity to be on a nearly empty street and hit the only other moving vehicle there.

When they first hit me my tire blew and I thought I had a flat, it wasn't until a moment later when the wheel collapsed and I somehow kept moving at my same pace that I realized something was wrong.

Ironically if I had been riding like a dick and running every red this wouldn't have happened. As always, staying far away from stupid cagers is the best defense.
