Got what I deserved

My bike has beened knocked over 2 times and the insurance covered it without an increase to my premium. You probably have a totaled bike and will be getting a nice check.

I plan on knocking over bike when I'm done with it cuz the insurance check will be way larger than the selling price.

Curious...anyone try to get insurance payout after blowing your engine or something?

insurance 101...

vandalism...somebody physically tipped your bike over....that's comprehensive...no fault...no premium increase...pay comprehensive deductible...

car hit your bike over....unidentified hit and run...that's collision...no fault...no premium increase...pay collision deductible...

bike falling on it's own by accident...falling off a jack or lift....that's collision....no fault to you....no premium increase because you didn't drop the bike....

person accidentally dropped the bike...collision...point to the person who dropped it....no premium increase unless you are that person....premium increased to the person who dropped it....

there is a ladder sitting on the freeway and you crash because you ran over it....or, you try to avoid it and crash....that's collision...accident point and premium increased because you are suppose to always be looking ahead for obstacles....

a ladder falls off a truck and hits you and you crash....comprehensive and not a collision...no fault...no premium increase...

you hit a dead dog on the road and crash...collision...accident point and premium increased..

you hit a live dog on the road and crash...comprehensive....no fault...no accident point....no premium increase....

I tried with my HYOOOOOOOsung and it didn't work. They warrantied it even though I didn't want the bike back cause of so many problems. What did I, I crashed it instead :rolleyes lucky to still be here.....

You need to be truthful. Keep in mind damage is a signiture of events the bike will not lie to an experienced damage adjuster.

Truff.

When I was attacked/ran into a muni bus at 3rd and 17 on my WRR I tried to get SOMETHING out of Progressive but they weren't having it. Muni charged me for busting out the window on the front door of the bus though.

Progressive was awesome when my SM610 got knocked over at the beach though. Some bystandards got the license plate of the woman who knocked it over (she left a note saying "Sorry...you parked to close") and the agent tracked her ass down and got me a few hundred bucks for a busted kickstand. She'd changed her name and some other weird shit so he kinda went outta his way and I appreciated it.

Hmm, maybe I'll try a claim. Bikes gonna need new bars, and I'm not sure what it will take to resolve the fact that full lock to the left is now further than it was (have to move the bars to the right a smidge to get the keys out). As long as the bike still checks out as safe to ride I made out pretty good cosmetically. Odds are I'll crash or drop it myself sooner or later anyway. Anybody wanna go in on a garage in Hayes Valley :)

that is straight up retarded. how does that even make sense?

basically the rule is...if it ain't moving, you should have seen it and avoided it...if it's "moving" and doesn't belong on the road, it hit you and it's not your fault...that's the reasoning behind it...

everything comes down to what and how you say something happened...it's recorded...same for how much you pay for insurance...depending on what you say when they ask the questions....how much you pay for your insurance can vary....

that is straight up retarded. how does that even make sense?

Two questions:

-- How do you get it up / down from there
-- Any concern about earthquakes?

Pretty sure I'd revert to single if I tried to park my bike in the studio, not to mention I'm no stunt rider, so the two flights of stairs would be interesting.

crazy story.. I don't know if you'd parked too close, but just like I said in my previous post--- actually cagers often park too close themselves and then are uptight about it..

... all of my bikes have been knocked over when NOT parked between cages. far far far from them.

Comp won't cover it, because it was a traffic accident. At least that's what Progressive told me when my bike got backed over.

You need a better insurance carrier! Try USAA, if you are a vet, or Farmers, State Farm.
I have filed couple of knock down claims and got no grief from USAA.
