rename rally in honor of glenn and his family,so the parents can come down and be around the barfers....sounds like there in a lot of pain might not be the best thing yet....sucks to hear

I hear... has to be their call. Might bring some additional closure. It will bring pain for course. Sometimes that is what moving on takes.

Lemme know when the rally is scheduled. My family has some property just off the main drag in Weaverville. Plenty of moto parking/space for a get together one evening.

We wouldn't unless they were okay with it. It's intended as a sign of respect for their son and to mark his memory. If they say no then it remains simply the mid summer magic. The last thing we want to do is add to their suffering in any way.

I just need to check AFM and track day schedules... And hear the date in my other Favorite​ summer ride. I can't miss it.

I'm really glad his family is ok with us naming it after him.

I like "GOP Midsummer Rally". It would be good for the family and those at his side during the accident. I've been at a few horrific crashes and that "feeling"-(I don't know how to describe it) when you get off your bike and go over to the downed rider...just sticks inside of you. And the other "cold feeling" of going into full "pilot" mode, of looking down the road, slowing, turning back, parking, all just very calculated, not wanting maneuver into another bike or car and being that second accident (which we have had happen - you don't know to help rider-2 or kick them). Then that total change inside of you once your helmet is off and you...look.
