I'm about 25 minutes from ThunderHill - hit me up if you and your "pit crew" need a place to stay, we've got plenty of room and a full shop. This would be a good warmup track before you begin the "quest".

CotA in Austin have some rentals nearby. It would be a naked Aprilia, but that seems doable.

First: I salute your adventurous spirit.

Second: I have some very good friends with full stables of great track bikes in the Austin area. When you're getting ready to head down there, let me know. I'm pretty sure I could get you a ride, a place to stay, as well as a track day buddy or three.

Edit: I'm also in for donating towards the Euro trip(s)

Once this journey begins please start a new thread and document your travels (lots of pics).

That thread has Best of BARF written all over it.

Good luck in any future endeavors my friend. When life throws you a curve, you have to be flexible. My only words of advice is to do the best you can, for as long as you can. Set your goals but be ready to make new plans if circumstances require you to change your plans.

I love the newly-realized passion. And the bravery involved is truly inspiring.

With no intention to derail. If you truly want as much track time on important tracks then you may want to consider as many WSB tracks to fill the MotoGP gaps.

Good luck on your quest. With BARF you are never alone.

Let me start you off with this:

I will be your pit bitch, whatever you need...

Dead serious. Print this if you need to, cash in whenever you're ready.

God, Thank you for this kind of man.:cool
So, we need to put together a list of tracks and cost, including air fare, hotel cost and equipment and go from there....

Sounds like the Alonsos have the keys to Barcelona, and the US stops are easy to plan.
FYI, Dave Moss goes to Qatar a few times a year, and Australia now as well; having someone who speaks English with knowledge of the layout and the area- such as the Alonsos and Dave- and who are willing to share in this fantastic journey will make it that much sweeter.
that said, once you have plans set, post up and I will sincerely make an effort to join you on one of these amazing adventures!!:thumbup:ride

I managed to achieve my dream or racing at the Isle of Man this year. It has TOTALLY changed my outlook on life. Go with your dream and it will change yours. Dont let anything stand in your way, just do it.

I know you said MotoGP tracks but they used to race on the Isle, there is no other place that can be called the "Motorcycle Mecca" than the Isle of Man. The people on the Isle are AMAZING, just like BARFers :) The bike I had initially broke down a number of times. Every single time a local would stop to help get it started or get me back to the pits. Motorcycle people to the core

Wherever your journey takes you, ride safe and as was posted earlier, to the last drop

I'm sitting here at my desk with my eyes welled up with tears, trying not to cry.
The support from everyone here is just amazing!

I have a friend who does amazing videos, I love the idea of a video to upload to youtube to try to get out there and build support... I'm going to shoot him a quick note and ask him to check out this thread.

So, that said, I'm in to help in any way possible. I could even try to rustle up a couple of the absolutel knock-outs that are racing Formula Afemme in the AFM, to see if they'd be willing to be Umbrella Girls at the Laguna day! :)

Groveland, where's that?
I am volunteering to head up the committee to make this dream happen. If the OP says go then we're a go!

HI Jonko,
I live in Sydney at the moment and willing to help with anything down unda. Might be living closer to The Island by the time you get down here. I have contacts in a BARF-like club in Melbourne, and could definitely sort out accommodation for you. If you are going to spend a bit of time out here, we could arrange to have you catch the ferry down to the state of Tasmania. Its the riding mecca of Australia. Could also put you up in Tas no problem.
This is awesome, looking forward to seeing how things will pan out.

Let me start you off with this:

I know Laguna Seca hosted its last MotoGP race this year, and who knows when/if MotoGP will return to this circuit. But if you want to still include Laguna Seca in your list, then just make it back down here, and your trackday is on me, and you can ride my track work horse - a 2007 Yamaha R1 - carte blanche.

I'll even ride with you the whole day, C Group or not, if you think that will make your time and experience out in the track that much better. Or I can just be your pit bitch, for that whole professional rider experience; your own pit area, me waiting to roll the bike for you on the stands at the end of your sessions, your own pimp chair, a work table to put the bike on during lunch so it looks like we're working on it, and I'll even have a clipboard with fake data to look like we're working on set up. You can make exaggerated motions with your arms as to what the bike's doing, to complete the look.

Dead serious. Print this if you need to, cash in whenever you're ready.

I know others have said it . . . wow! And for op, get out there and do it! :thumbup:thumbup
