wow, only 1k miles of experience and you hit mines. That's hardcore man, i was still afraid of turns on the freeway back in those days:teeth

Anyways man, i'm glad your ok and falling is ok (in my mind) as it makes you learn from your mistakes and makes you think (since your in pain) why it happened and how can you try to avoid it again.

on a side note, that is one of the most hardcore rides I have done. The first time i did it near the beginning at livermore, i had an f350 with a trailer fly around a corner and almost kill me and my buddy. caused me to come very close to the edge. In those very brief 3-5 seconds I thought my entire life over.

Still I'm glad you were wearing gear and had a correct newb bike. You might want to consider riding some roads like redwood or bear creek or hit up some roads in marin co. Even marsh creek rd is a bit more tame but still a lot of fun and in the summer you may want to consider morgan territory rd as well just to get a good feel for it. Oh ya I hate roads with no painted divider just because i am terrified of f350's with trailers :wow

Hi Everyone,
I appreciate everyone giving me good wishes (good for the karma) :teeth

Poor fr0ng :( I saw some of his posts.

I was being stupid and riding over my head. I hope to God that this incident and the permanent 'battle scar' will serve as a reminder.

Based on everyone's advices here are the things I need to do:
1) Get Leathers BUT make sure they are a tight fit.
2) Get some sportbike motorcycle technique books. It's odd because MSF taught me to keep my 'heels' on the footpegs... yet you guys are saying that keeping the forefoot on the footpegs is BASIC...
3) Get to track.
4) Don't RIDE ABOVE my comfort level

Thanks Again,
Saad

Nothing wrong, but as a long time rider, I hope you don't miss the point.

1) Just wear leather. Loose or tight it works better.
2) You can't learn to ride from a book. Period!
(I can't teach you to surf in a book, either.)
3) Are you going to be a racer?????
Tracks are VERY controlled environments.
(People are fooled into believing they are superior riders with track time. Not necessarily.)
4) Here is YOUR biggest lesson. Remember it!!

Enough said.
