The only thing I dig about that MB truck is the color. Looks like they made it out of melted down, recycled Micronauts*.

*some of you may not be old enough to remember Micronauts, I feel sad for you.

There has been (maybe was at this point?) discussion about Nissan abandoning the Frontier line for the Navara here in America. On the face of it, it certainly seems like that'd be a good move on their part.

Nissan has not been known for good moves lately....

The new Frontier truck is supposed to be intro'd soon, with looks catered to American tastes, resembling a smaller Titan.

At least it's an update to the current model that's been around for an awful long time. :dunno

Exactly. The last time the Frontier was updated, Bush #2 was still in office. : |

Yeah, but French? ...and Chinese? :later

(I always remember one of the car guys on the radio: "I wouldn't own a French car if I lived in France!")

The Peugeot 308 we had in Scotland was a really nice car. It handled well, looked good, was reliable, and comfortable. I'd have no qualms about getting one here if I could.

I said it looks good...nothing else. :laughing

However, it's not the 1970s anymore, so likely a non-issue.

Peugeot left the US in the when "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released.... :x :laughing

They did win the Indy 500, like a century ago...

They're planning a return.

Americans have never been known for being very pragmatic in their choices for privately owned vehicles. Peugeot has a current lineup that would be more than sufficient for many Americans, but they're too proud to buy a vehicle made by a French company. They're too obsessed with Germans and the Japanese.

Well, the market in the 70s and 80s determined Peugeot's departure, Peugeot's issues (reliability, dealer network, design idiosyncrasies) determined the market. Throughout that same period, Volvo seemed to survive the German and Japanese onslaught. :dunno

Our family always had Volvos during those decades.

The only French car I find mildly desirable is the Alpine A110

PSA did buy a couple of the brands that GM sold off; Opel, Vauxhall, but only a couple of those cars were in the US market as Buicks. :dunno

Ford getting rid of all cars cept the Stang should be an indication of what lies ahead for manufactures thinking of entering the NA market.
People not buying trucks are buying SUV’s and crossovers. I dig cars but the crossover is ideal for my needs. Seems many are coming to that conclusion.
