Butte County, CA - Mask Free

Had a friend who visited relatives and work-related friends up there this past week (Red Bluff, Redding, Marysville). She said nobody is wearing masks up there.

Defying the order resulted in exposing the entire congregation to COVID-19, according to the news release, and the Mother’s Day service “comes at a cost of many hours and a financial burden to respond effectively to slow or stop the spread of COVID-19.”

The county should bill the church for any added expenses as a result.

I rode up to Lake County last week to run an errand. Pulled into a coffee shop in Middletown to grab a cup. 2 CHP and a woman were outside and yakking, no masks. I went inside and the 3 women working there were not wearing masks. It felt weird.
I kept my mask on out of habit. Not wearing a mask would feel like driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

Why would you even bother going into the place? You were that desperate for coffee?

I was out riding with a friend last Thursday and stoped for lunch in Middletown.

Less people wearing masks in the State of Jefferson, but it would be an exaggeration to say NO ONE is wearing protection.

Rode through Redding, Anderson, Cottonwood today. Some restaurants dining rooms are open. Win River Casino was open. Parking lot filled, but every person was given a mask if they were not wearing one and they were thermal scanned upon entry.

Many businesses still shuttered. It's not the SF Bay Area paranoia here, but it is still evident.

Have they banned smoking then or is that already a non smoking casino?

I wonder if they wipe down the slot machines after every use?

GAJ- Good question, I had only asked if poker room was open. It was not.

Their website relates that no alcohol served, but says smoke `em if you got `em! How do you do that with a mask?

...and $2.75 for a donut? Not expecting many retired LEO I guess.

It's weird getting out of SF.. I was in Madera, CA on Friday and stopped at a super market.

I took a few moments to observe the locals before going in the store to see if folks are wearing masks. Most were not. I decided to bring my face covering with me, but I did go inside without one because I guess I wanted to fit in. Once inside I saw some employees not wearing any, but after a few minutes I could see that half the people were so I put mine on. There was no social distancing in line.

Society is very different depending on where you are.

How come those dumb hicks in the state of Jefferson aren't running around with their hair on fire like sensible Californians?

Was in Shingletown last weekend. As far as I know, no cases there yet. A lot of people wear masks, including the grocery store employees etc. Redding has 31 cases at last count and a lot of people in Shingletown work down there.

Breaking breaking news. There's no state of Jefferson, so that chart is invalid.
Those people are stupid. They don't realize all of the benefit that they do get from being part of California (or Oregon). I doubt that their income would support them, from the state, at the level they've probably been getting.
