Bike bandit tire replacement

Are we having fun yet?
And that's crap....they tell you to go to an authorized shop but they can't tell you where to find one? Horse shit. I'm guessing there are no "authorized" shops and the warranty is a scam to get people to buy tires from them.

Are the shops you called on Bike Bandit's list?

There is no "Bike Bandit's list." Any "state licensed" repair shop can perform the repair/replacement.

Yes, that's who I called, but thanks. The problem is that all the shops I called don't work with Bike Bandit and thus can't get the authorization number needed for reimbursement.

They don't have to work with Bike Bandit. This is an insurance claim situation. The road hazard insurance you purchased is provided by EFG at 800-527-1984 (for California) as others have pointed out. This info is in the contract. Did you read it? But if tire shops choose not to hassle with insurance for such a small cost item, then...:dunno

Also did you read that you can cancel the contract and get most of the cost back within 60 days in California? It's also in the contract.

Is the screw hole pluggable? If so, it's easy to do.

Yeah, I plugged one, but it's starting to leak now, so I just want to get it replaced. The hard part was just finding a shop that would accept the insurance. Most tire shops I called are salty about Bike Bandit undercutting their prices, so they basically don't honor warranty claims that weren't bought at their shop.

It just sucks that this means I'll have to wait a couple days while the repair shop orders the replacement since they typically maintain a large stock of tires (understandably so, as it's not their main business).

Thanks for all the help, guys. The bit about the "authorized repair shop" is what threw me at first, but I got it sorted out now.
