I'd get a dog if they were allowed in the house (I rent). As it is I'm just Dani's resident IT muppet. :laughing

Yeah they both look like very cool dogs and i'm guessing you and hans would totally hit it off or already have? I'm in the same boat (my apt. place has breed and size restrictions), such a shame, but was able to recently and finally get another dog-he weighs all of 12 lbs.:laughing and spent his first four months alive in the shelters in Modesto before getting sent to Dublin spca.
So i'm guessing you work for horsepower? So very cool what they are doing there. It seems like there are so many pits and Chihuahuas in the shelters. Rotties, german shepherds, pit bulls especially probably have such a hard time getting adapted due to these restrictions unless it is a pure breed rescue or something. Here he is in his "sun spot" outside my front door where he likes to warm up from time to time due to the 3rd level apt. I have that doesn't really get any sun on the balcony either, unfortunately, inspite of a nice peekaboo of Mt. Diablo. He's half Chihuahua and half Italian Greyhound also I guess and Dublin has a great dog park where I take him every day, sometimes twice lol! First small dog I've ever had and gotta tell ya he's a total game changer.:cool
Are you renting a house now and does it not allow any dogs at all?

Dogs are the best anti-depressant in the world . They WILL change your life for the better, as most Barfers know. :)

Barfs own JDHU deserves a ton of credit with this animal charity; He's helping to rewrite and enforce animal laws that will help stop the killing of so many big dog breeds- like these two big lugs- at high kill shelters.

Both Hans and Kodi are Gentle Giants for sure. I hope that they land great homes, they deserve it!!

Also an 8 month old Pitt baby out there as well named little red. Let me know if you are looking !

KODI
7 Mos CANADIAN SHEPHERD
WHITE
65 POUNDS

Comes with Free One year supply of Flea and Tick and Shampoos, etc
$150 RESCUE FEE WAIVED TO PERFECT HOME!!! ( barfer donated rescue and vet costs! Thank you!!)
MEET KODI: The ultimate dog AND people companion!
Despite his 65 pounds, Kodi is still a puppy. He runs beside you perfectly and walks on a leash like a champion. He could go for miles and hence is a perfect running companion. He sits and lays down on fingerpoint command. He is highly treat motivated and easy to train. Doesn't need much training but to come to his name.
Kodi loves all dogs but is afraid of any dog on a leash ( I believe he got his ass kicked that way at some point in his young life plus the kill shelter life scared him.). But OFF leash meet ups? Perfect! Kodi is a gem of a dog with other dogs! Bumbly, lovely, rolley, companion dog. He loves people, dogs, and life! He is a water dog and loves to swim. He is house trained and sleeps well at night on the floor. He would make a great family dog with other dogs and an active , engaging lifestyle family. He likes to cuddle up on the couch. And coolest of all, he lets out a perfect wolf howl every morning to tell the pack, " let's go play!!"
Weaknesses: he doesn't like to be left alone and whines for a while if let , but he doesn't do any house damage; he'll get over that in time as long as he has some sort of companionship.

Damn. I wish I could adopt this dog after reading this. Timing just isn't right at the moment - we're at our building dog limit and can't afford to move for a while. Also the name might be an issue, as my white fuzzy 65 lb dog is named Cody. :laughing

It's almost like a mirror post though. My Cody would hang out at the beach until he legs fell off, doesn't like meeting strange dogs on leash, and loves hanging around his pack even when the only member around is a little Pom who hates him. Those two would be thick as thieves.

Some Barfers and I formed an animal rescue in response to some recent dog killings at various high kill shelters in the area.

Hearts Fur Paws Animal Rescue, Inc was formed and a power Board of Directors is behind us. Top vets, world Class vet behaviorists , a top- notch hot -shot young animal law barfer attorney, and a former animal control officer who has "seen the light " of the no kill movement.

In the short time we've been a rescue, we have saved and rehomed 3 cats and 7 dogs.
Last week we pulled these two from death's door.
Meet Han Solo and Kodi: see below a ways. :)
