KS, I hope you have it holstered at the hip... It doesn't make any sense to have a chambered pistol laying around your home.

Scorp, what's wrong with Glocks? They are beautiful too... on the inside:cry :laughing

This pic is my favorite for a guy who "come from AZ where we really know guns, and now some Cali cat is trying to teach me something about them".

Eric, let me teach you something: the second you pull that trigger, that shotguns going to wheel back and hit you in the face/ mouth/ eye. You don't sight a shot gung like that...even if it looks cool...

Uhhhh, in a revolver...(now I know this is a hard concept), it's the same thing unless you're not running a full spin....

Eric, with your head that close to the sight, one pull of the trigger and you're gonna have a problem...don't ask how I know...

It's teach you "anything", not "nothing".

There, I taught you something not even related to the thread!

Hmmm, I just realized something funny -- at least to me. In keeping with the tradition of BARF where gear Nazi run wild... We give you firearm safety Nazi. Okay, not that funny.

Holy shit! I am in awe. I must move to Arizona soon because of their superior knowledge of firearm safety and shooting stances.

Here in California, we call the above stance, "the chicken wing". Completely worthless for supporting the weight of your firearm and absorbing recoil (who needs to do that for a shotgun anyway) but it's ultimate purpose is to ward of your attacker by employing your secondary line of defense, that nasty fucking stench of your armpit.

Oh, it's also good for a laugh when you do that at the local range and let's everybody know that you are a complete tool so they can then safely keep one eye on you. You'll also notice that the veteran shooters will have their strong hand hovering over the butt of their 1911s so they can shoot you down like a dog the moment you do something stupid.

Edit: Forgot to add that if you posted on the Counter-Strike forums with that picture. You'd fit right in, and hordes of pimple-sporting 12-year olds would be all over your jock in hopes of acquiring some of your expertise.

But don't listen to me, I'm just a dumb Californian. :wtf

If I had a fuckin dollar for everytime I called you an idiot, I'd swear I could be riding that damn 1000RR by now.

sorry about your friend, but this goofball most likely has more experience, respect and knows more about guns than you do. :p
Experience? Probably. Luck? Definetly if you act like that and still have a full famliy AND are around yourself. Respect? I doubt that. It is a known rule that you dont put your finger on the trigger unless you want to shoot. What if you were startled, pull the trigger and the .44 FMJ goes right through your cannon coolpix there and strikes some kid in the head? Respect means you UNDERSTAND the power and danger of our wepon and you DONT TAKE CHANCES. You are oviously taking a chance there, photos dont lie. It dosent matter if you are from AZ. It dosent matter if you fuck around with your guns all day for 30 years. It takes 1 mistake to end it all. With all your experience you should know that cowboy.

if the hammer is down, cant you still drop the weapon on the hammer and it will go off? and since the hammer in on the ground the gun will be pointing up , and shoot you.

i keep my guns loaded at night, but never chambered.
i honestly dont know what i would do with a revolver maybe have a empty cylinder to keep in on

just to remind you, i did say, "the hammer was down" you know what the hammer is right?

So what you are telling me is that when the hammer is down, the trigger locks and the wepon can not be fired? I know for a fact that at least the glock is dual action. Either way you are completely missing the boat. My point is that you are willing to take the risk. Personally I try to eliminate as much risk as possible. Wait let me put this in a way you will understand it. Please hold.
