Anyone have experience with white leather for daily use?

I have a white and black Avro Dainese jacket. The backpack straps will leave some wear marks but probably only you will notice.

I still have some bug guts stains even though I cleaned it minutes after getting off the bike.

Personally I think there should be more gunmetal/gray jackets, but there aren't many.

I have a white Dainese D1 Racing jacket + Kriega R25....commuted "lightly" with it on 101 between SJ and Palo Alto. It gets dirty not from the backpack straps, but from the road debris. I didn't notice it until I would clean/condition the leather each month, when wiping it down will show a lot of dirt on the microfiber cloth.

If you're meticulous with cleaning every week, the jacket will retain partial cleanliness...it won't look as white as when you purchased it. Without cleaning, the jacket would look like an off-white within a few months, I'd imagine.

After a few months of use, I stopped wearing it due to the upkeep. I now wear the white Dainese jacket/gloves/boots on those rare occasions when I want to look faster at stoplights. LOL.

I have a white jacket, it looks worn, but i like it that way. If you want your white leathers to look pristine then don't do it. If you like the look of some wear and tear then its great.

I have a mostly-white leather street jacket and white one-piece leathers. I've had the jacket for about 10 years. They're greyish now up close, but they still look fine from the distance they're seen by most people. :p

I've never tried Aerostich; but three sets of white over "x" colors have me hooked on white leather, & specifically always wearing leathers anyway.

U just can't beat the feeling of TOTAL protection wearing an armored/ leather racing suit vs. something else. I gather if I tried the Aerostich I'd likely like it, but hey still have three leather suits here, 2 of them totally clean/ "uncrashed" on still after decades.

Even the one w/3 racing bails ain't that bad. Needs a few stitches redone, but other than that, all ok. Just don't fit me anymore....:laughing

I have white Rev'it overpants. Only got white because they were $200 cheaper than other colors. Now they are grey/off white (more dusty looking than nasty looking), but I got them for function and value over form.

When something nasty has gotten on them (like when Miss smokin hot BMW X6M driver decided to toss her mostly full strawberry milkshake out the window as she passed me at ~100mph), spot cleaning with spray-on stain remover and a quick hose down solved the issue to my satisfaction.

I wear a (mostly) white leather jacket everyday with a backpack. It's the A-Stars Stella white perforated jacket.

It gets dirty, but I use Weiman leather wipes every 3-5 months to make it shine again.

A dirty white jacket is still way more visible than all black. That's why I got the white. :teeth :ride

This doesn't address your question, but, hey, it's BARF!

If you're looking to white to help with the heat, I'd really give a look at the Motoport Air Mesh jacket. Stronger than leather and vents so completely that it feels like you are wearing a T-shirt.

+1 on motoport as an option.

I live in Dublin, and have the regular Kevlar (not the mesh). It breathes amazingly well, and the black doesn't retain heat like leather. It's a great commute setup.
