The discussion on either side of this has been very interesting for sure in terms of legality and morality but some of you may need to realize that whatever point you're trying to make to justify this act, you're supporting someone who seems to have caused a scene just for the sake of causing a scene and nothing more. The interactions with this person in this very thread are also fanning the flame of shit disturbing. The way some of you speak make it sound like he was the one laying down in the street protesting. That seems to get lost in your effort to be right about your particular point of view.

And the penalty for causing a scene, without harming anyone and no evidence of intent to harm anyone, should be what?

I don't know. I'm not as studied into the legality of this situation as many others are here, nor do I pretend to be. So I can't say what the penalty for being an assclown should be.

If this situation was the other way around with the protesters being cuffed for holding up the street without a permit, I'd probably have a similar feeling.

How people view the interaction from very different viewpoints is the most interesting aspect of the thread to me. I see it as a clear cut case of an angry person trying to exert dominance, or modify the behavior of those that irritate them.

Some people seem to be arguing that two wrongs make a right, and the motorcyclist was justified in his actions because the protesters were illegally lying in the street. I disagree, and see it as intimidation similar to opening a car door on, or squeezing a lane splitting motorcyclist to "scare some sense into them".

^^ This. Well stated and very clear.

What I find enlightening and disheartening is the level of support for him in this thread.

management would like me to stop posting so I will.

You had to be forced into understanding, sweet. While I violated the TOS blantanly and no management contacted me to STFU.

I'm sure you can read between those lines. Sorry you lost perspective, and made the site look bad to the point you were told to stop posting inflammatory bullshit. PM me after you put down the single malt and I'll explain to you how I know what you're thinking.

After discussion in the Mod Forum, we've decided to close this thread.

After multiple requests for respectful interaction and communication and yet we still see namecalling, personal attacks, and insulting communication similar to the one seen here:
