Coastie who high fives
Wish I could be there (oconus that weekend), looks like it will be an awesome celebration!

Surj

Uneasy Rider
In case you're thinking, "This sounds ok, and I do like lane splitting—but I bet it'll just be Budman and Surj lecturing us about the importance of getting involved in moto-advocacy..." here's a preview of some of the cool stuff we'll be giving away at our celebration:

- Two prizes from Aerostich: a Dispatch messenger bag in CityBike fave high-viz yella, and a $250 gift cert.
- A cert for a free rider training session from Monkey Moto School.
- A cert for a free piece of luggage from RKA Luggage.

Huge thanks to these companies for supporting our AB 51 celebration, which—reminder!—is this Saturday. Tell your friends!

And yes, we'll be sure to lecture y'all about the importance of getting involved. :teeth

Looks like I'm going to drive in.
I don't want to put the lovely and talented Miss D through too much urban splitting. She is super capable and patient but two-up through Blue Angel gridlock seems a tad unsavory.
Any suggestions for safe/secure/close-by parking?
I just got a new car 3 weeks ago, still trying to be somewhat protective of it.

Send me a pm. If you don't mind walking a few blocks I might be able to help.

The closest thing is the Costco parking lot just across the street. But really cars get messed up around here, even in lots. I don't think they charge for the Costco lot, but it might be a good idea to be a member. ;)

You could take the CalTrans to 4th, and then a bus from there. You could also drive to the Daly City Bart (they have a fairly nice parking facility), and Bart into the City. But I suppose a lot depends on your from direction too.

This would be a good time to remind him to extend BART to the North Bay too. At least Novato!!!
That way he'd be able to attend via BART too!
J/K of course. A motorcycle is probably better.

I think your car will be OK. Just remove absolutely all cards, coins and gadgets from the windows. And park on 11th probably, going up from the DNA lounge not down (only two blocks down are available )

I might be able to make a cameo. Li'l Moto and I have been planning a ride for that day. Can prolly Hang out for some fudz and stuff. She'll be with me so I'll have to bail once the 12 year old attention span is exhausted. :teeth

Coming from Vallejo I considered taking the Vallejo ferry. It seems like that might be kinda fun but the logistics on the city end seemed like too much considering the Blue Angel factor happening pretty much at the same time.
I remain open to suggestion tho.
