Wish I could have made it!

Ripter..I'm in East Sac too..maybe I know you? Either way pm me about any Baja questions, been a few times (every:) ) with this group. I'm glad to help, meet for a beer at the Bonn Lair or Porchlight/Tower pub?

Also, glad there is a new route. Time for a change but.. I was thinking today that the reason we used the basic route so many times...is that it was bad ass, worked so well in so many ways.

Cheers to you all.

It was good meeting everyone yesterday...such a chill, down to earth group is always refreshing. Not to mention good beer and pizza. Looking forward to the next one and maybe some riding in too.
Also, a couple of you guys really knew your stuff about the Husky TE610. Would you mind if I pick your brain a bit more about maintenance checks and rebuild thresholds?

Hi Brian,

Alex here, it was nice to meet you. Huskies FTW ;)

World famous barfer Woodschick has had a 610 forever and would be a great source of info.

Baja Bike Bought

Bought a relatively fresh 2002 XR650R last weekend to use for this trip and have started to go through it. Hope to test it out soon! Will pick your brains during next meeting regarding best setup for Baja etc.:ride

Nice Job! I assume it is plated. Go through it top to bottom and really focus on the wheel bearings. Daniel had one and can offer some suggestions too I'm sure. I believe he beefed up his aluminum subframe to help support the extra load his luggage put on it.
