...I've owned a fair mix of new / used vehicles over the years, but lately have trended towards buying new. I kinda just see it as a hobby at this point.
I consider enjoying cars a hobby in addition to just transportation. So contrast the car payment with what I spend monthly for something I only do on weekends a few times a month and it makes total sense to me to eat the payment for something I get to enjoy daily rather than just a few times a month.
Hell, think of what half of you guys spend on beer every month and I'd bet it's more than a $300 car payment. I can pretty much guarantee that 99% of you drive more than you drink, so...yeah.
As long as you're not sacrificing your saving / investing for the future for the car payment, I say balance it against your other hobbies and do what makes you happy.

Vehicles like this need big tires. Seeing a Jeep Gladiator on the base smallest wheel/tires is a straight abomination. But seeing one on 35s? They look just fine.
Same goes for the vehicle that is the cause for this retro Bronco in the first place. While they absolutely look waaaay better with cut fenders and big tires, you occasionally see those old 60’s era Broncos in totally stock (and extremely valuable) trim. White line tires and all.

No, the Jeep Gladiator is an abomination all by itself. The tires don't matter. :green
As for the Bronco Sport, it'd be nice if people would stop judging the currently not-on-the-road ACTUAL Bronco by the Escape-based smaller model that actually is currently on the road. They're not the same vehicle at all nor are they even intended to be marketed to the same kind of buyer in the first place.

Whats wrong with the Gladiator? I think it looks nice-ish.
I rented a Jeep Wrangler in Hawaii and after driving that thing around for 2 weeks realized I'm definitely not a Jeep person. That thing was just painful to drive at any reasonable speed and had next to no comfort. Reminded me a lot of the Lada Niva/4X4, which isn't a good thing!

Mainly the fact that it looks like a team of lazy design engineers decided that the easiest (and probably quickest) way to enter the mid-size pickup market would be to hack off the back of a Wrangler and add in a bed onto an SUV body that was never designed nor intended to have a truck bed on it in the first place. It looks completely non thought out and lazy. Not to mention hideous. Did I mention grossly overpriced too? :thumbdown
And yeah, if the majority of Wrangler owners are honest instead of Kool-Aid drinkers, they'd admit that their Wranglers are not ideal OTR vehicles at all. Uncomfortable as hell with shit site lines.

Nothing wrong with the Gladiator. Just looks way more proportioned when it’s got 33s or 35s on it.
Ever seen a base model? Lotta wheelbase. And it looks like it’s rolling on compact spares.
