Excellent list, but I don't see:

Gist Road
Marshall-Petaluma
Saint Helena Road
Del Puerto Canyon (conjoined with Mines)
Ink Grade

Folks who ride with me know I love me some Marshall-Petaluma, but it's not remotely in the same league of challenging roads as something like King Ridge, or Forks of Salmon, or Sweetwater Springs. For that matter, neither is Del Puerto Canyon. Hell, those roads have centerlines! :laughing

It's all about pace, right? ;)

Besides, if the list has 36 and 299 and Mt. Ham and others...and, seriously, Wards Ferry? Skip that and do Kelly Grade/Marshes Flat. :x

Let's go ride some time. :teeth

The hairpin on Pinehurst off Skyline in the East Bay. I always want to book on it, but when I hit that off camber, 180 degree uphill turn I always go full pussy on it.

Some great roads listed in this thread. Been on quite a few of them too.

I was surprised to not see Mt Charlies or Zayante Rd. listed as local challenges.

Up north, off of Hwy 36 you will find Platina Road. Connects Platina to Igo.
Also Iron Canyon Road (37N34) which dumps out at McCloud Lake. Basically a connector between 299 and 89.

Just don't like the bike run wide on the exit, and you'll be fine It's more of a point-and-shoot corner. :party

Mt. Hammy to the top and back is work. A lot of work.

Triple

A few years ago Mortifer and I were standing around with some other guys, and the topic of goat roads came up. One of the guys brought up Mt. Ham. Mike and I made eye contact, and turned toward the guy and said, "It has a center line." :nchantr :hand

Platina road is pretty fun. I only rode it once, but it's a nice diversion.

Mom, Sister and Brother live in Anderson.
After a moto visit I will use Platina Rd. to get to 36 and go westbound.
Then Alderpoint Rd. to continue North from there.

I rode Hwy 36 many many times before ever trying the Red Bluff to Platina portion. :laughing

I've also ridden a fair share of the logging roads off of Hwy 3. Good stuff. But quite hot in the summer months.
