AFM race, 1989 at Sears Point (now Infineon), turn #7 (the old turn #7). I'm riding a 1987 FZR-1000... Those were the days!

...ok, 10 of my 20+ year old shots from AFM racing. Apologize in advance for the poor quality of some of the shots (pics of pics, no scanner here.) Here is the 77' KZ650 717cc Superbike circa AFM "750 Superstreet" race in I think 1979'.

81' KZ1000J in AFM "Open Stock Production" race in 82'. Twisted the crank & blew it up while finishing 2nd....oops. My all time favorite bike for me....

damn, I wasn't even born in 79 yet, truly a pioneer.

what tracks were those?

Thanks for the kind words guys.

All the above pics were taken at Sears Point. I raced there my whole career almost exclusively. w/only a couple excursions to Laguna Sega & Willow Springs. (AFM raced at Laguna 77'-79'.)

Ah the good old days.....Goodyear slicks, spoke wheels, when everything wobbled, when men were men! :laughing

Hey Budman, remember when you could rent Sears Point for the entire day for $25? We didn't call them "Trackdays" then, cuz we had to share the track with the racecars.

Nothing more surprising than going into 7 hanging it all out, when you suddenly notice a nosecone, wing, & two BIG slicks 2 feet away out-braking you into the turn....a Formula Atlantic car....yikes! :wow

you know Im thinking back then it was probably easier to make it big- go all the way. did the opportunity ever arise and if it did how come you didn't stick with it? or am I just talking nonsense?
