Looks like something Lincoln would make.

The Grand Wagoneer is target as a competitor for the Navigator and Escalade. The Wagoneer is target as a competitor for the Tahoe, Suburban and Expedition. Seems they hit their competition's finer points well.

Yea, I'm going to wait with an open mind on the new JGC, but that doesn't mean I'm not cautious about it.

The one I have is that last of the Mercedes infused platforms.

I’d rather have something based on the ML than the Stelvio. Ugh, Alfa Romeo reliability is one of the worst there is. So a lot of people actually love the Giulia Quadrifoglio. Great looking, powerful, handles great...what’s not to love? As one journalist put it, if you buy one of those, you have to make peace with the fact that you’re really paying to have a base model Giulia have the time you are making payments on the Quadrufoglio. Since it will be at the dealer getting fixed and you will be in a loaner car.

Can’t imagine the shitstorm it will be at a CDJR service department when the new Alfa based Grand Cherokee comes out. They better bolster their loaner fleet numbers.

Yea, I don't know anything about making cars. I find them to be an absolute marvel of, well, everything: design, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, marketing...everything.

But you have to wonder why they'd take, honestly, the flagship of the Jeep line: the JGC, and "risk it" on a platform such as this. Jeep is already rather notorious in the reliability department, and this (sounds like) it can only make it worse.

Yet, they do it anyway. As if it's the "only" thing they can do.

Perhaps it is.

Maybe they can leverage this as an opportunity to get better. Maybe making them in Michigan will make them better.

Who knows.

I still wonder if I should wait for one of these or just buy a used Raptor once the world is open again. :dunno

(right now I am not going anywhere so I don't even need a car, let alone a fun one. :p)

Get a Raptor now. If you decide to get rid of it in a year or two for the Bronco, you probably won’t get hurt too bad. Raptors hold their value very well.

If you're not one of the 160,000 people who have already signed up, you won't be getting one before 2022 and quite a few of those on the list won't either, depending on what exactly they want to order.

I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to go through with ordering one. I have another month or so to make the decision. I want a Base Sasquatch, which should come in at about $35K, but you can't get one with a manual transmission, so that automatically adds another $1595 for the 10-speed automatic. With a couple of other fairly simple option and if you add the destination charge, it's awfully close to $40K.

I think this is the play. I have to wait until my taxes are done at least. Not expecting any surprises but I don't want to want to risk it. :p

Pretty sure they announced you could now get the manual option w/ sasquatch.

Decided not to wait for the Bronco and put a deposit down on a Tacoma last weekend instead.

Good news is that should you decide to trade it for the Bronco in a couple years, you won’t take too much of a bath on depreciation with a Taco.

Considering the sales impact Ford had this year on Tacoma, I'd say those days are about to change.

Speaking of Ford Trucks. What do you think of the upcoming Maverick? Unibody based and smaller than Ranger (perhaps maybe the size of the last Ranger).
