interdasting, you guys don't think a month is enough time to scale up vaccine production? lol... "widely available" =/= "vaccinated" btw... i'd be surprised if in a month i couldn't sign up for a vaccine (i won't personally, because i'm immune already) appt. anyone up to bet a beer on it?

Yep!

Also, the EULA is only for those 16 years of age or older, so there’s that ;)

Also, we need about 700M doses to vaccinate everyone. 500M if we’re going for 70%

This first run is less then 500k

<snip...> Pfizer has already made 20 million doses and plans to produce around 50 million by the end of 2020. The company has a much more ambitious goal of 1.3 billion doses for 2021.<end snip...>

Did you miss the part where the US chose to not early procure?

So we’re gonna have to compete for about a 1/3 of the annual manufacturing run with other countries...

Widely available in a month my ass

Just announced though the Fed has opted to early procure 100M doses of Moderna.

That will take us to July

Still awaiting EULA on it though.

“Securing another 100 million doses from Moderna by June 2021 further expands our supply of doses across the Operation Warp Speed portfolio of vaccines,” said HHS Secretary Alex Azar. “This new federal purchase can give Americans even greater confidence we will have enough supply to vaccinate all Americans who want it by the second quarter of 2021.

Yeah, the country sure came together to ensure all of the healthcare workers had sufficient PPE and masks within a month. :nchantr

Oh and

The White House said Sunday that senior U.S. government officials will receive the coronavirus vaccine to ensure essential government functionality and security, after reports that Trump administration staffers will be among the first to receive the shots.

“Senior officials across all three branches of government will receive vaccinations pursuant to continuity of government protocols established in executive policy,” National security spokesperson John Ullyot wrote in an emailed statement.

That's our good government for you :laughing

also forgetting the fact that Pfizer isn't the exclusive owner of their vaccine either

and the other company isn't US based

Sure, let's go with dictionary. 1 vaccination in each state to constitute a majority (26 states or we can count by land mass). let me know how much and which sports book we're using.

:rofl

HTF is this widely available?

How about enough vaccines to vaccinate 1/2 the population in all 50 states? EDIT: how about 1/3 or a 1/4 or? What percentage of the population? EDIT: I would say widely infers 51% but that's nitpicking.

How about, you call up your PCP and get an appt scheduled for the vaccine by Jan 15?

i asked you to set a line and you wanted me to define the word "widely", so i used the dictionary. you should try that some time.

the details you're bidding is kind of the funny part of this mental masturbation exercise of yours. availability and adoption are not the same, now are they? in reality, widely available is probably 10% the total population. people aren't stampeding over each other to be the first set of lab rats... lol

also, why would i sign up for the vaccine? i'm immune already... lol

OF course it is. :nchantr

They do need to meet and be around each other though and pretty damn essential... so I get it. This time. :teeth

I don't disagree with it but messaging out that it's just like the flu AND standing first in line is quite the disconnect.
